This going to hit iTunes, for Apple Music?

When DS2 leaked, iTunes immediately put it up ... even though it was ahead of the "retail" date.

Alright after 4 spins, including the whip, home stereo and headphones tests Im revising my score to a 9/10. The sequencing and vibe is growing on me every listen.

Be clear, this album is gonna have hipster, bitter drake and pnd stans  but if he just remade trilogy sound they would say its boring and he hasnt changed and hes fallen off.

This album is LOADED with songs that will be smash hits when they get pushed as singles.

Shameless is a top 10 weeknd song of his career

Ill always be there for you girl I have no shame :whew:

Aquainted and in the night will be hits as they should be

But girl im so glad we're Aquainted :lawd:

Real life is such a great intro track

The back half half as you are :leon: went from an 80s pop song into a classic 2nd half ethereal zone out abel

:ahh: This album blends his style with mj inspired pop music.

Its not gonna be for everyone but this will be the biggest album of his career. If they keep pushing out the singles this album will easily go gold and has a chance at platinum.

If youre expecting initiation pt.2 :umad:

Albums gonna be my soundtrack for the next while:win:

I remember reading an interview/article from the NYT a couple weeks back with Abel distinctly saying he was "going pop" on this album. He talked about wanting to become a superstar. HE said that, out of his own mouth. So I'm confused that ppl are in here being surprised that the album sounds pop. Well, yeah, he told us ahead of time.

I love that dark sound from the Trilogy, but y'all gotta realize that if he wants to become a "superstar" he can't keep riding that wave. As shytty as it is, you gotta give the mindless consumers out there a sound they're used to. I just pushed play, and will be listening with an open mind, knowing that it's not gonna have that sound I'm used to from him, and go from there.

I fukks with it. I give it a 3.5/5 maybe even a 4 since I already heard most of it.
I didn't like dark times at all
Often, Can't Feel My Face, The Hills & Earned It were already dope so the album was strong from the jump to me.

Tell Your Friends is piff!

Bout to give it another spin :smoker::smoker::smoker:

Ok so I really listened to this album and purposely did not read any of the comments posted from here or anywhere else.

I listened all the way thru and it's clear of the mj influence which we all already knew.

I personally think it's not a good look since he did such a great job at perfecting his own style over the years and it's always hard trying to compete against ghost.

With that said, I think this is a really well cohesive album with some really great POP SONGS. This album may work well for mainstream audiences but I'm not too sure about previous fans.

With that being said this album is WAY TOO BRIGHT FOR ME. BRIGHT meaning the production and mixing. It's mixed like a pop album and I'm sorry I've never been a fan of bright mixing/production.

His singing has gotten better but the rawness of his lyrics with his original unmixed warm heavy production is what made the Weeknd what he was.

While I don't like the change I understand it.

3 out of 5 :yeshrug:

Pretty much my sentiments. Damn shame, too. :francis:
