By 2003 file sharing blewup and his freestyle with the now GOAT level jay z helped, his song with big and pac, being associated with cam,mase,etc all had way more to do with L being popular than eminem.

Again i dont know a soul who heard of big L through eminem and i am white so i know the type of people whi actually would listen to eminem... its just does not hold water to me.

I was already listening to face Tupac 8ball swisha house and a bunch of other stuff but I did a deep dive into New York rap. I came across Big L by listening to lord finesse and fat joe pun. I kept seeing big l on different list of greatest of all time and I also seen Camron(in my top 5) talk about him. I started off with children of the corn and went onto to his solo projects and features.
