Look, I fux with Wigs the bball player when he's in a contract year, or pre trade deadline. And he seems to be a "nice guy"...

But this trade is GREAT.

Warriors the team and the fans are WAY TOO DAMN EMOTIONAL. It's the most annoying thing about my home team.

This is the part of the reason Draymond has been able to embed himself as indispensable, because he's the only person with any aggressive tendencies. The enforcer.

The team needs more dogs and we did exactly that. Even if Jimmy's production is exactly the same as wigs at his best, we're way better off at the end of games and in the playoffs just by having another alpha dog.

:picard: Wiggins is better than Kuminga, but they gave up Wiggins instead. Kuminga is never gonna be an all-star so idk wtf the thought process is

Wiggins is definitely better defensively than JK, today. But Wiggins is literally playing at his ceiling. JK is nowhere near his. And JK is probably a better scorer than Wigs already.

Remember JK is literally 22 years old, and has only been playing organized basketball for a few years. His upside is almost unlimited.

There's a reason why when NBA teams call the Warriors for trades, they always want Kuminga. Nobody and I mean nobody has ever asked for Andrew Wiggins in a trade.

Are the Warriors going to pay Kuminga 25 to 30M a year this summer?

I saw they're only 19M under the lux tax. What is the plan after paying Jimmy his money?
The plan is to bust open the piggy bank and go into the tax again.

nah. I think he's close to who is he gonna be

He had the same usage rate as Steph, and he was a net negative unless he's with steph on the court.

He doesn't rebound well, shoot well from the field (unless it's a point blank layup/dunk), pass well enough, defend well (especially off ball) enough to be that guy. He is a play finisher that everybody thinks is the next kawhi leonard.

He's been in the league for 4 seasons, and we are still talking about "potential". Guys like Amen Thompson and JDub and Jalen Johnson have already lapped him. He's just not that guy

That's fine. We can agree to disagree. I 100% believe JK has a lot more upside. And mmost NBA scouts and execs do too.

The main difference between guys like Amen, JDub and JK are minutes played in the NBA, and the support of the coaching staff.

Steve Kerr has done everything in his power to minimize JK's confidence, growth and impact on the team. If Amen (who's a MONSTER, btw) was drafted by the Warriors, he'd be languishing on the bench his first few years as well. And if JK was in Houston, he'd be way further along, and have way better stats than he has now.

I notice people who say JK sucks or is at his peak already, seem to have an emotional bias against him.

Is it because of his self-confidence bordering on arrogance? Is it his money demands and turning down the reported $30M per? Or is it simply his game?

They should flip Kuminga and Draymond for Zion now

:manny:
So trade away their whole defensive identity for an undersized big who can't defend?

:usure:

Flipping Draymond at this point only makes sense if it's for someone who can do all the things he can do, which ain't happening, because teams are hardly going to give the Warriors that kind of player to take back an aging version. Steph won't agree to it either.

As much as cats wanna shyt on Kerr all the time for the coaching he's supposedly not doing, it's clear a huge reason for why Wiggins played the best ball of his career in GS was because of Kerr being able to relate to him on a human level. Wiggins certainly isn't the kind of player where you can be all rah-rah with and expect him to perform -- that'll only push him in the opposite direction.

You're right, Kerr was the perfect coach for Wigs.

How you think he'll fit in in Miami with Spo?
