Since it has been mentioned a lot in here; Westworld has averaged around 2 million viewers for its televised Sunday first run episodes. It rises when you factor in HBO Go views and stuff like that but its number have been pretty steady at ranging between 1.75 million to 2 million as far as TV viewers.
So it might be contributing to some of the loss of viewers but its not the primary contributor.

That is how I am feeling. I am not sure who came up with the direction for how Negan is being portrayed, whether it was Morgan or the showrunners or a combo of the two, but Negan is awful.
He's not a villain I love to hate.
He's not a villain I hate but want to watch.
He is just obnoxious and I don't want to see him on my TV screen at all.

Patrick Warburton may have been a better choice if not a bit on the nose.
Some of the other actors I believe that were considered:
John Hamm
Matt Dillon
Henry Rollins
would have all been better.
It wouldn't be too out of the realm imo for the walkers to have a character with a functioning brain.Not saying he would have powers or be a leader but he/she would be an offshoot/hybrid/anomaly in the TWD lore. Revealing a character like this in a season finale would be a bigger cliffhanger and have more intrigue than finding out who's going to get merked in the season opener. This is the route you have to take imo if you're going to keep stretching the show into 6 seasons or more. Evolve a walker or two. That would be

Or have some human evil scientists who were partly responsible for the virus, create some super borgs in another part of the country and give the storyline something, not ridiculously stupid but we would be like

Why? government collapsed population is way down. You would have the same show but no zombies.......I mean walkers. it is a post apocalyptic show....There needs to be a cure.

I know the desire to scrap the bottom of the barrel to come up with new ideas for this stale ass shyt with no end point in sight but talking zombies would be the official jump the shark moment for this show
Just because there would be a cure wouldn't mean no more walkers. At least not for years.

Negan is the only bright spot imo, every episode needs to feature every group as that would break up the monotony. The 25mins it took to finally get to the Lucille victim could've been used to show what was happening with Morgan & Carol, and the Kingdom episode could've shown us the group returning to Alexandria & the Kingdom.
A storyline that doesn't involve [insert new comic villain]. Especially if the cure is in limited supply.
