Song is pretty good, but this is not my favorite K-Rino. Rino peaked from '93-'98 but he remained great all the way through 2007. Rino is easily a Southern legend, but many of his projects today are too redundant (recycled beats and subject matter); plus he's big on that Nation of Islam stuff which is that Yakub magic talk and its contradictory to black liberation from the system.

Stories from the Black Book, Danger Zone, Hit List, and Fear No Evil are his greatest albums, and Stories from the Black Book is an untouchable masterpiece.

Yeah, the whole concept that people need to be "deprogrammed" or disconnected from some "matrix" is juvenile stuff for angst-ridden white teenagers on some "fukk society dude!" shyt. It's an infant stage of understanding you're supposed to grow out of.

On a side note the Matrix was a great movie, but unfortunately it brought out the smartdumb nikka in a lot of people. The whole "brain in the jar" perception/reality thought experiment thing is nothing new or deep to anybody who with a decent education.

And of course K-Hippo, like other mediocre minds who fancy themselves possessing of a higher level of understanding than the masses always stroke their own ego by telling themselves and others that, as he does in this song. He casts himself in the role of the doctor "deprogramming" the patient because of course, he's like so enlightened!

He's not even subtle with it. He ends the song saying "Yes, I know that's why you're the students and I'm the master." :shaq2:

He basically said you're ignorant because you're "programmed" by mainstream rap music (which is a flimsy, lazy premise in the first place) and I am here to open your mind because I'm like really smart and stuff and I'm gonna make up a silly metaphorical story where I'm a doctor and you're a patient and use a horrible hook and an ear-grating delivery. :mjlol: Pretentious, self-aggrandizing, pshttp://www.thecoli.com/threads/the-underappreciated-genius-of-k-rinos-song-deprogrammed.297031/page-7eudointellectual...not impressed. It's designed to appeal to mental midgets like @The Ruler 09 who think they're smart because they watched some bullshyt conspiracy videos on youtube and listened to a Ras Kass album.

A dude tried introducing me to K-Rino and I stopped talking to him

Any person that wants me to listen to K-Rino does not have my best interests in mind
:dead::dead::dead:

Bruh will probably ask you to donate to his Anti-Illuminati fund ...

I'd say his absolute peak as overall MC (not just lyrically) is 91-98... while his lyrical peak was 2004-2011...He's still making quality music for the most part...but i don't find myself listening to a whole lot of his music from 2012 on up (outside of Deeper Elevation).

Deprogrammed was a very solid album :ehh:

Not in his top 10-15 albums though

Someone needs to touch this nikka Ruler 09 for making this thread and idolizing this failure of a musician.
