Okay back to the actual song and lets not focus on which rappers thinks K-rino is a dope MC.

@The Ruler 09 , you still havnt addressed @SirBiatch 's main point in this post:

Ignore his statement about him writing rhymes like this when he was 15 (which you chose to focus on last time), and address the actual point he his arguing. The part that I have underlined.

Is this not true? Is Sirbiatch wrong for saying this? And if he is wrong, please explain why.

If K-rino is such a lyrical genius like you claimed and if this song is some kind of masterpiece.
Shouldn't he be able to word the following sequence better?

They waited for me to respond, still I wasn't moving
They entertained the thought that I had let my tactics break me
They did everything in their power to resuscitate me
One of them read the bible as I laid there idle
And multiple devices were used to check the vitals
They shocked me, medicated me but still wasn't recovering
They worked to bring me back a whole hour but still nothing
Then grateful for my sacrifice and all of my devotion
They drove me 700 miles and placed me in the ocean
I floated out to sea as they cried and started grieving
They stayed the entire evening, said some words before leaving
They travelled home mourning the demise of the doctor
Returned to the facility to empty out their lockers
They came back to the building walked inside and nearly lost it"

It's not a terrible observation but I reckon it's not rooted in objectivity because the very nature of poetic writings are subjective to the person reading or in this case listening. I don't see anything wrong with that particular sequence. In this instance, the word "They" is being used as an anchor IMO, much like the repetition in the chorus. He's telling a story in past tense and I think the use of prose in this regard is deliberate - particularly if you're going to tell a story.

It's not the best way to get somebody invested in a story in song form, but it's definitely doable. K-Rino probably won't be in my top 10 or anything, but I can respect his work as a writer personally and I'm not gonna follow the bandwagon of dismissing his music because he's "old" or talks about illuminati :mjlol:. I thought he did a decent job of illustrating his narrative. Part of the problem I'm observing in this thread is that there's probably a backlash against the song and the artist not because they don't like him, but purely to spite the OP which is kinda silly IMO and takes away from any actual critique - hence "this is trash, that is trash etc".

I feel like 'bring me a nectarine' is gonna be the new coli bat signal. On some ol:

Bring me a nectarine :shaq:

And all the coli goons come out on some old ra ra shyt:pacspit:

Can't get over how wack and contrived that line is :mjlol:

For me, I never evaluate hip hop like I would writing in an English class. Doing that is about as far from hip hop as you can get.
Too many conjunctive adverbs? :mjlol:
You listen to the shyt. It's either dope or it isn't. This shyt is dope.
:whoa:I'm not saying this song is above criticism. Criticize all you want. It could be better. It could have been the greatest verse of all time. But agin, it's dope to me

Wack beat, nectarines, excessive conjunctive adverbs (:mjlol:) and all :yeshrug:

Well the talking point of this thread is OP's opening sentence: "This song is 1 of the most underappreciated genius songs in Hip Hop history, the concept and then the execution."

I can see why people like the song and all. I also belive K-rino is a dope rhymer. But Im argueing OP's statement.

We should be able to critique the song with that in mind. But Ruler keep diminishing this as hate and trolling.

Why make a thread when you cant take people not agreeing with you?

Is the concept of the song so complex or original that it should be labeled genius? NO. Curing someone that is brainwashed with the help of the rappers mind and then coming back from the dead is not genius. Its regular bragging from K-rinos side how evolved he is while he taking shots at the mainstream, masqueraded as a conceptual story telling song. Nothing wrong with that. K-rino have a lot of songs like this. But is it genius? No.

Is the execution of the song genius? NO. For the reasons me and Sirbiatch have pointed out already. Is the rhyming good? Sure. But is the way he is telling the story on some genius level? No.
A rap song dont have to be school example perfect like you said. Its perfectly fine. But I do find K-rinos story telling style stale and repetitive for the reasons we already have talked about.
He forces words in just to rhyme (nectarine is the perfect example, that line takes this song out of the genius category single-handedly) instead of telling a dope story which should be the main focus.

I think its automatic after a certain # of posts...

Lets talk about the hook, and I usually can give a fukk about a hook unless its just plain awful. This hook is plain awful from the written lyrics to the execution of it....

"What are you trying to do?"
"What are you going to do?"

that part there shows how limited Rhino's writing is. I'm just not impressed at all. The shyt is mad dry and drab. I can really break down these verses if ol buddy wants to play this on All Madden though.

I remember when i liked K-rino in my pseudo-intelligence and rebellious stage of "Ohhh the world and corporate America are so evil" ect. Oh and also "I only listen to REAL hip hop" Stage.:mjlol:

....Lookin' back at it that shyt was pathetic.

Anyway I can respect K-Rino's storytelling, because he dose make great stories....but that is where it ends. He literally fails at everything else.
His music is like him literally reading sentences over a beat.:scust:
...And lets not even get into his asinine ideas about the world .:mjlol:...I mean i'd still have a convo w/ with about it but it's still crazy....

"Illuminati" believers are the worse...shyt w/ the energy they choose to put into something you'd think they would actually make positive change with their own lives and communities rather than focusing on something completely out of their control....shyt lets say the illumanity is real? WTF are you going to do about it....yeah focus on that instead of your own life and family...
Worst is they mask it and say "Oh well, im just waking people up! So im still doing something!!" Ole "When you CANT DO, TEACH" ass people :mjlol:

"real hip hop heads" are some of the most pretentious people i have every met....like they really believe they are BETTER people cause they listen to music w/ "substance" and "meaning"....:snoop:

Like seriously...even the idea about this album....believing you are better(Deprogrammed) cause you like this , have similar ideas that K Rino has, and hate mainstream music....like it's impossible to like other things and have different beliefs w/o being a "sheep" to the system? (even those people that are "anti-system" are the biggest sheep ever)...

Like the beat could be the trashiest shyt ever....the flow could be god awful...and dude could be spittin' off beat.....but...but...HE SPITTIN THAT REAL:russ:

I can appreciate what K -rino dose...and if you feel it, good for ya...Just don't think what he is doing is original or better than something else. IMO i think he woiuld be better off as a writer and a poet because he seems more inclined about that aspect instead of making GOOD music.

It's kind of impressive that the OP got a featured thread about an obscure rapper nobody really knows or gives a fukk about out of sheer dikkheaded stannery.

:mjlol:

I'm not even trying to shyt on the OP (I agree with his thoughts on rap most of the time) or K Rino...maybe he has better songs...but the song in the OP is the definition of "rippity rap"

Yeah I never minded the OP in the past and I agree with a lot of stuff he says too. But ever since he's been on this K-Velociraptor stanning crusade he's turned into Rhyme King status.

Watch Ruler come back and respond to some random troll statement or something that have nothing to do with the thread with a wall of text, and totally ignore the valid thought out statements and critique.

Oh yeah btw, i laugh at the idea people think you need a dictionary, an open Wikipedia page, and a quadruple entendre for it to be "real"....Like bro this is MUSIC we are talking about....Most people listen to it escape, relax, and be happy...not for extra home work....If i wanted to learn, i'd pick up a book or read an article.

Whats the quote thats like "If you can't explain it simply...you don't know it well enough" ?

And yes, i do love lyrics and find them to be important in Hip hop, but i also realize that it's one aspect of it....and in some songs(party songs) they don't really matter for me...Cyhi and Fashawn just dropped and i'm listening to them over Drake cause they also make great music while having dope lyrics.....

:usure:The thread picked up cause @Tall Israeli and @intilectual recipricol were baiting @The Ruler 09
You saw what happened yesterday - all of a sudden we had 10 k Rino threads like back before @intilectual recipricol was banned. (Notice how K Rino died down when @intilectual recipricol was gone :ohhh:).

Thread wouldn't have done numbers if it wasn't for the trolling.
I agree that this this isn't some genius next level hip hop shyt, but it is dope. So of course everything is gonna get amplified once people start saying its absolute shyt and trash :yeshrug:

Ofc people will call it trash, this is The Coli. Especially if a well known stan makes a claim that something is GENIUS.

And I have seen Ruler claim to be a certified genius so he should be able decipher what is trolling and what is an efforts for an actual debate. Especially if there is persons that have trolled him before.

Why respond to obvious troll statements and then ignore others that takes effort in making valid points? He also dismiss these posters as haters and trolls. And if he decide to argue what we post, he usually ignore the main point and spin of with something that have nothing to do with the topic just for the sake to be right.
