Since the 1st thread got merged or deleted lets try this again. Maybe we can get some discussion on if you think this will hurt Sony in the long run or if it won't matter at all. Currently it's not a good look and I think in the very long run its going to hurt them. But even already there are examples of things becoming public knowledge that people assumed was "fuel for console wars". Movement from the government to check sony's Market Share in japan which is the most important thing that could happen if it were to get shaken up.
1) Clauses
Sony actively makes sure that xbox is excluded when drawing up these parity clause, there would be more 3rd party dev's that would support xbox if they could, but doing so would actively hurt these publishers in most cases.
MS isn't just being lazy or not offering money, I'm sure in most cases the amount of money it would cost to just to have a game to be able to release on xbox would be ridiculous out the gate, and if you talking gamepass
examples
No it's not the same as a timed exclusive deal, that stuff is fine. What isn't fine is excluding a company just to big up your company because you are dominating the market share.
This being confirmed is a black eye for sony and even the stans can't defend it, it also leads into actual legal action.
For a long time M$ aka phil has been playing fair, yall don't like to hear it but it is what it is. This is something sony has been doing and Phil isn't has reached out for legal action or tried to lock up games and exclude them from everything but playstation permanently.
2) Legal action
If Sony wouldn't have pushed blocking the AB deal so hard with little to no good reason as to why, especially when practicing anti competitive behavior and having a "monopoly" or domination market share in the "High end video game market" They wouldn't be facing a lasting ripple effect that now ANYONE not just microsoft can bring up in the future as there is now a real life basis for that being a problem.
Before this, unless MS would have pursued legal action, Sony was basically teflon don in their behavior.
