Damn, you gotta be in a special kind of mood to watch state prop

I thoroughly enjoy an entertainingly awful movie. To this day, ain't no way anyone can convince me Beanie Sigel didn't just make up every single line on the spot. Primarily because anyone who wasn't just ad-libbing was CLEARLY reading their lines from right off screen. :mjlol:

At least it's not State Property 2. :mjlol:

Rocafella had a little run with bad-good movies back then, minus Paid In Full

Paid in Full is an all time classic.

I'm aware that we might actually be overrating it above good bad movie status, and I don't care.

Paid in Full is a genuinely well written, well shot, well acted movie. It stands out high and above the other movies they produced at the time like SP1 & 2, and Paper Soldiers

As long as they continue to make good games i don't care if its playstation or xbox being strong or weak.

The problem is xbox is trash at making certain types of games, particularly narrative driven single player type games. So i'd be concern if they did simply like this only to not make those types of games and in the process prevent sony from doing so as well. Would just weaken playstation, it would weaken gaming as a whole.

All that talk about Microsofts “warchest” starts to sound stupid in retrospect once regulators start looking into what Microsoft is actually doing. Like nikkas was on here bragging about Microsoft buying the entire industry earlier this year and now they’re crying to the CMA/EU that Microsoft isn’t going to do that after all lmao

By the time this deal is done, candy crush will be a playstation exclusive :mjlol:

10 years tells me Microsoft is making everyone put all their cards on table and/or we will see you in court. Microsoft is done with all of these no nothing regulators and their stances. Put up or shut up time.

I really don't consider that to be a concession in hindsight because that appears to have always been Microsoft's goal anyways. Let's agree to something we were already cool with. What Sony doesn’t want is COD $70 on Playstation and free on Gamepass because it will look bad with the optics but we are past that point. It's going to be what it's going to be.
Also, it'll dead all those exclusive cosmetics, betas, early features, etc. Sony always gets. Sony will take some L without all those leveraged, moneyhatted things to make people buy it on PS. All that half shyt will be permanently out the window.
I don’t get this argument. Are you saying there is no possible way Microsoft can compete with sony offering gamepass and owning the 23 studios it currently does? Which is 5 more than Sony and about 11 more than Nintendo if you include their partner studios like intelligent systems.

Nintendo already does compete and a lot of times out competes sony without call of duty, the same argument can be used in reverse to them not caring about it.

If not, don’t you think thats more of a Microsoft problem and not an industry problem?
Money is the only way they can compete with Sony leveraging all those exclusives and extras. The only other ways is Sony fukking up majorly like the PS3, or MS coming up with the next Super Mario Bros., a killer app so big people will shell out 500 on impulse for it.

All their arguments are disingenuous. When a company achieves such high level market dominance it's almost impossible to compete with them on equal footing unless that company makes a huge mistake and upsets their customers. They know that Microsoft can't really displace Sony given their current positions. It's like when Google tried to leverage YouTube to displace Facebook. Didn't work and Google+ failed. Or when Facebook Watch was gonna be the next big thing to displace YouTube. That also didn't work. Or when YouTube Gaming was gonna knock off Twitch.

Once people get comfortable in an ecosystem with a product they are difficult to move out of it. Humans are creatures of habit.

Microsoft's attempt to disrupt Sony is Game Pass. Even then they need games consumers care about on the service. They're not going to cut a deal to get a Call of Duty on the service. 1 it doesn't make economical sense to pay probable billions for some exclusive window and 2 Sony would use their market leadership to block that deal anyway. It makes more sense to just buy the company that owns that game and then own the IP meaning it can be put where Microsoft wants.

From Sony's perspective they can't combat the value proposition a game like Call of Duty coming to Game Pass offers. This isn't about Microsoft becoming a gaming monopoly or loss of Call of Duty. This is Sony's attept to keep a service like Game Pass under their thumb. Sony sees these gaming subscription services as a secondary product. Microsoft sees them as the actual product.

Except, MS had first party killer apps like Halo, Gears and Fable during the 360 era that the PS3 couldn't fukk with. Since then all of these franchises fell off and MS refused to make new IPs.

If MS actually gave a fukk about Halo Infinite, that game would've been a big system seller.
