people say "make a new engine" like it's something easy. the only people that make a new engine from scratch are those that don't have one in the first place. everyone else iterates their existing engine. especially a game like this that has specific needs as far as being an open world, with item persistence, and such. this engine has been specifically designed to handle their specific needs. you can't expect to throw this together with UE4 and have it work

IMO the models and animations look dated, but some of the lighting effects look pretty nice. it does use shader 3.0, tesselation, and other effects that weren't seen in previous bethesda titles
The models, animations and textures are pretty bad. The models and textures I know can at least be fixed on PC since there's already mods coming out for that.

Animations I think can be updated since they were on Skyrim. It's not really that bad on PC though :mjpls:. At least I can run potentially run this at higher resolutions/framerate with visual mods.

You're not gonna get Madden graphics or even liner style game graphics like say call of duty, the open world sandbox games will always be a step behind, only genre with worse graphics is mmorpgs lie world of Warcraft an shyt. If you don't like it just keep it moving. If you fukk with this style of game you just accept it and if it bugs you enough play on PC and mod it. I can play unmodded oblivion and like it just cause it's fun or I can play modded fallout 3 and have it looking better than any game out of 2015... This is known shyt breh,,, it's just that classic Beth style game. Same way you're gonna have glitches in a Beth game.. They can't test doing every quest in every order with every follower,, sometimes it doesn't work,, you just gotta enjoy it as a whole and hope you don't run into anything game breaking :yeshrug:

But can you? Adding additional effects will make it even harder to run. Weren't you talking about 28fps in some places? Imagine your fps with graphics mods. This isn't easy to run like Skyrim.

I'm talking in the event that a patch is released to fix the issues with certain areas. I've heard it has to do with the game rendering shadows throughout the game world no matter where you are so the game is doing lots of stuff(I guess it shouldn't be) in city areas. The game should be patched soon I hope.

That's not true, Ark was thrown together pretty quickly on UE4 and looks better as a multiplayer open world game with building elements to it. They've had years to work on this game.

oh yea let me listen to you and be more upset than I need to be at my expectation of graphics... Oh the graphics dont live up to YOUR standards so what, get over yourself.. the graphics arent as bad as you whiney internet dudes make it seem, yall need to either play it and like or dont, but complianing and trying to paint this picture that this makes this game less enjoyable is fukking pathetic...

Big fan of Bethesda but yeah, they leave a lot to be desired.
It looks better in the daytime but some of the textures -- primarily the rubble -- are absolutely atrocious.
It was actually jarring going from Phantom Pain and The Witcher to this.
Still a good though and I'm finally getting into it heavy. I'm hoping they make some changes for the next Elder Scrolls.
