^^ how was the movie tho?

The prequel? Not very good. It wasn't terrible or anything but it's one of those movies that you'd watch on a Monday night if nothing else was on.

So was Childs the thing/infected or did MacReady get infected when he chilled with Childs at the end and shared a drink? I know the game to it in the early 00s said Childs was but the I'm not sure if the director or Russell ever confirmed it themselves.

Remember that other movie back then with Keith David from that same director with Rodey Piper, They Live? shyts a fave of mine too, not scary but shyt is still relevant to this day with all the subliminal advertising that goes on.

Wanting people to use those old kind of special effects and saying "fukk cgi" is just pure nostalgia

no real logic to it at all at this point

not frontin tho I see and understand why someone would love those old kind of effects. nothin wrong with that

But CGI simply looks way better. Especially right now because the cgi is so crazy

when it first came out people were like :childplease: because that shyt looked almost cartoonish

but now in the past few years........just look at avatar or somethin like that. shyt looks real dog!

I fukk with old movies heavy........but just the ones that didn't use mad corny special effects

not even hatin on this movie either.........just sayin

It's not nostalgia in the least. You act like every movie has the budget of avatar. The use of CGI today is awful in most movies and tv shows. Practical effects look a hundred times better then CGI in 90% of the cases.

I love walking dead and spartacus tv shows, but I cringe when I watch it because of how bad and fake the CGI blood is in scenes. It's so dam noticeable and tacky.

My favorite horror movie of all time.

Haven't seen the prequel being meaning to. Saw CGI in the trailer and it kinda turned me off, was hoping they'd do practical effects.

On a side not anyone remember playing the video game? It was a sequel on Xbox and PS2. I fukking loved that game, personal classic. Testing the people you found was genuinely suspensful.

I'm the only person i know that actually played that. fukkING INCREDIBLE. The best was when one of your squad would lose it cuz of the stress and blow his own head off out the blue. All you hear is a shotgun blast, turn around and duke is laid out

:myman:

Too many people slept on that game. I think most were getting burnt out by the survival horror genre. But that game was head and shoulders above everything else not named Resident evil and Silent Hill.

I remember seeing the "spider head" scene on cable when I was 6 years old over my aunt's house. The funny thing is it didn't scare me....I thought that shyt was :ohlawd: I just remember thinking how cool it was. I didn't even realize it was "The Thing" until I was around 20.

If I'd seen it a few years later my brain could've processed it better and I would've been :damn: because movies like "Nightmare on Elm Street", "Hellraiser" and the theme to "Tales From The Darkside" had me shook.
