There's a difference between ethnicity and nationality. Just like there are a ton of ethnic groups, Navajo, Yoruba, Berber, Aztec, Igbo, Zulu, etc. these are ethnic groups like African American or "blacks. Who don't have their own specific nationality because they don't have nations. These are ethnicities.

That's the whole point. The term 'Black' isn't legally recognized as a nationality in international law.

My thing is if us 'blacks' trace our ancestral lineage back to Africa. Then we will see what nation our bloodline/ancestry is from.

I think we need to do a consensus on this to find out how many of us come from the many nations of Africa.

Once we establish a consensus we can than go about deciding on a name that we can approach the UN with.
Very few African nations give dual citizenship, even if you're black. Hopefully DNA will get better and so it can be determined who you're actual family members are because for example saying *yea im nigerian* is not going to mean Nigeria is going to give you papers.

Dual citizenship is a viable option but obtaining sovereignty in america and protected status is the key.

Rules are meant to be broken. Say cacs go ham and decide to go on extermination missions, is the UN, which is controlled by the US going to come to the US shores to protect you? :russ: Yea, maybe but after sizeable damage has been done, bu they, if it can be done make it happen.

Yea anything can happen no doubt but historically this really is unprecedented stepping to the UN in Geneva regarding sovereignty.

The only other closely related case we brought to the UN was We Charge Genocide in 1951.

But again the strategy now is to obtain protected status domestically than internationally.

When the US controlled Un tells you, fukk outta here, the same UN that got bypassed so the US could destroy Iraq, then what. Again, black people beegging cacs for mercy, its just not going to happen.

Bush called Iraq an imminent threat (When it really wasn't) to the US so that negated any dealings with the UN...

The whole US running the UN goes out the window especially now when the economy is struggling as it is and how the rest of the world views the United States with injustices etc. Other entities will get involved which is why it is called United Nations.

When we present a case to domestic and international law for protected status and then sovereignty we can get a positive outcome.

You dont think they know whats happening to black people, right now. I bet they're hoping a case never gets presented to them.

I don't know too much about Liberia, but I don't see why that couldn't be the site of AA migration if it were to happen. West Indians and Afro-Latinos would prolly have to go there too or maybe to other places that provide stable environments and opportunities. With all the spending power blacks got here they could turn Liberia out and make that their Israel. I'm sure I'm making this all much more simpler than it would be. But imo while its good to trace your ancestry back to the country of origin and tribe I don't think it changes the fact that black people here and all through the Americas are in a sense "new tribes" since they're the result of many different groups of Africans (along with some mixture from non-black groups) to make one new group. New customs, new ideals, new everything exclusive to its people. That's not to say there's no kinship between Africans of the West and Africans of the continent, just that its ignorant not to acknowledge the differences. I think with those differences the idea of "nation" should be new too. Liberia was the land freedmen and former slaves from America went to colonize in Africa, English is the primary language, names are mostly American, and the government is of the same style. Seems sensible for American tribes of Africans to call Liberia their nation if they chose to actually claim it, or Africa, at all.

One of my best friends growing up had parents from there. They got the same names any black man in Georgia or Tennessee would have. Some different of course, but its still more similarities than difference. But yeah I'm like you, I don't know the situation on the ground well enough to know how that can work exactly. I just think it should be looked into.

The state of Liberia is currently in shambles. African Americans did move to Liberia during the migration. I think it was in the 1900s on some back to Africa plan. It failed. They had a civil war which was between African Americans (who thought they were better because they had been in America) vs. those who had actually been there for ever. Liberia is currently one of the poorest and most dangerous countriesdue to the civil war and corruption. You'll find a number of Liberians living in the US since they wanted to escape the country.

I don't see why West Indians, Afro Latinos would immigrate to Africa. There are already the majority in their countries. They actually have their own countries already, control the gov, schools, and all.

yeah there was a thread about that, http://www.thecoli.com/threads/freed-american-slaves-founded-new-country-on-slavery.137774/ although ii think the article was using inflammatory language i did look it up and basically it is true that the african americans that founded liberia did not represent the ideals of freedom and justice to the fullest

and even in africa as a whole the level of human rights and individual rights is worse than in the US

and yeah i agree its not really about moving, and to add to what you said black people control cities and towns all over the US, i think what is important is learning how to develop the places we control already, expanding human rights in the palces we do control and creating trading links between all the black people of the world, people would move to africa naturally if african countries started respecting the rights of black people
