The Wrong Side of the Tracks

Yes and what’s your point, in modern context British German Russian and French are all white people or ‘Caucasian’, we know race is a modern concept but the differences that lead to people being categorized have always been there.

My point is the modern concept of 'race' to describe/define those differences makes no sense and there is no scientific basis for 'race' at all.

We got the continent and the caribbean.

If theyre not African, its cool bro.... Theyre a multi-racial tribe similar to Dominicans.

Dominicans also don't view themselves as part of the African family - and that's fine.

Our squad is already deep.
Which is insane because Cubans And Brazilians do.

The term "black" was historically used to refer to African Americans, who have alot more genetic diversity than Africans.

African countries do not view each other as the same people, its more of a tribal mentality. That's why African's will look at someone like that and call him "colored" but most ados have quite a few family members that look just like that, we've never viewed them as a separate group because historically we're all black in the U.S.
Do Europeans and Asians even view themselves as the same people. Why do you think African people would be any different than them. World war 1 and 2 could be akin to tribal warfare especially with how Germany and Japan tried to do a takeover

Which is insane because (some) Cubans And (some) Brazilians do.
They were allowed to keep their drums, and they have a "higher" population percentage.
That "pardo" group doesn't exist in our culture. They combine when convenient but they're not the same group on paper.
Afro brazilians are actually only 7% of their population/14 million deep.
So, SOME.

Cuba and Brazil were the last two Western Nations to abolish slavery and even then slavery went underground until like 1901. Theres alot of overlap culturally between the two when it comes to disaporic things since both were mainly Yoruba and Kongo peoples that made up the Africans there, where as in the other Caribbean and South American countries its other nations. Same caste system everything

I'm not saying they should be any different.

Just saying that it shouldn't offend them when other groups start excluding themselves from this "global African family" bullshyt when you acknowledge that shyt isn't real.

Cubans don’t really. The value “Cubaidad” over race.

just listen to speeches by Castro or writings by Jose Marti

Only Afro Brazilians because they have no choice
mixed Brazilians have many levels of “blackness” and have many different terms to distinguish it. They don’t go by our one drop rule mentality

"Cubanidad" as philosophy is a thing yes and probably the main reason Cuba didnt become Haiti 2.0, because abolitionist creoles, mulattos, free blacks and slaves all came together as a compromise but theres definitely the same different levels to blackness/color as in Brazil. And theres definitely Cac ass racist Cubans and pro Black anti white Cubans on the island yet the number is much much smaller than the US or Brazil because if you even talk about race, from any angle, over there you might get in trouble for "idealogical diversion" since the revolution "officially ended" systemic racism and we're "all in the struggle together" even though Castros cracker ass grandkids are driving new Benzos and my great grandmother literally cant get more than a pound of rice from the state for a month :francis: but thats a whole other thread

true in many ways I think the revolution helped black Cubans and saved the island from becoming like Haiti, DR or Jamaica where Afro/black peoples suffer most specifically cause racism

It’s better off many ways but Cuba isn’t “perfect” in any sense racially even there is racism mainly racial profiling of the black Cubans especially when it comes to dealing with tourists, and some job opportunities, etc

I will say Cuba is probably the most anti racist/non racial society I’ve ever experienced

that’s why Cuba now and their entire history is so unique/special

but black Afro Cubans into black American culture are more aware of race

and the white rich Cubans obviously got rich families in Miami who left cause Castro from way back helping them so can’t blame em
