Internal growth or maybe trading pieces that don't fit for ones that do. Just because you can't major FA's doesn't mean that you overpay for the ones currently on your roster that don't amount to getting out of the basement or play-in tournament. Regardless of how you spin, that core just won't work long term and it will be the same issue again next season.

I hear your general concerns but the element I think you're overlooking is this ....cap space is only valuable if you have someone worthy of it to spend it on If you're not a FA destination you're either going to have money burning a hole in your pocket or you're going to end up using it to overpay an external guy into going to a place that's not a hot commodity...a Laker dollar is worth more that a Thunder dollar and that's something you have to consider when working out your internal negotiations ... A good front office should be self aware ...

We haven't had "long term" to test your theory on core workability so I don't know where you're drawing such certainty from with this take ...either way we'll see moving forward:yeshrug:

Lonzo inconsistency on offense is going to hold him back from being lead guard material unless you bring in a wing that helps mask his deficiencies. You cannot have your lead guard be inconsistent on offense regardless of how you try and spin it. It's the same complaint we make about other players and Lonzo isn't the exception. I understand people are bias about Lonzo, but let's be real about his flaws.
Having flaws is generally the case for most players even the HOF's I don't think pointing out a player not being perfect is a good sole justification for saying you think his team may let him walk for nothing ... What he does provide however ..Playmaking / Shooting / Defense / Size are commodities not easily found on the open market

We'll see if dudes keep that same consistency during free agency if that contract amount comes in higher than even they expect. We clown dudes and teams all the time for overpaying, let's see if we do it with Lonzo as well.

Like I said family ...all "overpays" aren't equal ..some franchises have to offer more to get that same value as another franchise due to circumstance ...and also "overpaying" a still devolping 20 year old vs "overpaying" a maxed out 30+ year old may not be the same either ...you always should bring some sort of context to your analysis :hubie:

The fact we took back 10 mill in cpntract(Aminu)and gave up an expiring contract in the Vuc trade irks me almost as much as the 2 pick

Carter and 2 picks was more than enough and honestly it shoulda just been Carter/Porter/2023 pick

We couldnt have gotten Bamba back? :dwillhuh:
Clifford barely wanna play him

They have no chance at the play in anymore, they should be tanking but there is no way Zach would allow them to sit him for the rest of the season.

We just have to hope Toronto and Sacramento win games.

At least our schedule is tough.

2019 lottery , bulls had the 4th worst record in the league & were jumped by the lakers,Pelicans & grizzlies & dropped to 7th

32% / 20% is pretty significant. If we had a legit shot at the play in I’d get it but at this point we really don’t. I know they won’t outright tank at this point, but give me the extra 12% odds to keep our pick in a loaded top 5 heavy draft. I always like to see the team play well but we got like 6 games left.
