Enies Lobby SPOILERS:
- Usopp sees the spirit of the Going Merry at the end of the Skypiea arc, which explains why he's so attached to the ship. This also sets up for the big moment where the Merry moves by itself to save the Strawhats in the end.
- Tom was killed because the government wanted the blueprints to Poseidon, the ancient weapon. This also explains why they want Robin, since she's the only person left who can still read the language on the stone tablets (called Poneglyphs) to know the secrets of the ancient weapons. We saw Robin reading the Poneglyphs in both previous major story arcs (Alabasta and Skypiea)
Fishman Island SPOILERS:
- Shirahoshi is the ancient weapon, Poseidon. The ancient weapons were mentioned back in Alabasta.
Marineford SPOILERS:
- The whole Summit arc was foreshadowed 300 chapters in advance when one of Shanks' men tried to meet with Whitebeard and talk him into calling Ace to drop his search for Blackbeard. Whitebeard's refusal to listen leads to Ace getting captured and shipped off to Impel Down.
- Sabo's existence is also foreshadowed by a third sake cup at Ace's grave.
Whole Cake Island SPOILERS:
- Sanji uses an alias called Mr. Prince in Alabasta, then mentions that he's from North Blue in the Skypiea arc. Turns out that he was an actual prince from North Blue all along.
Wano SPOILERS:
- Kaido and Big Mom are both namedropped in the Thriller Bark storyline way before they first actually appear in the story proper.
- Luffy's dancing at the end of the Skypiea arc looks just like the paintings of the sun god Nika, hinting at the Gear 5th reveal and the true nature of Luffy's devil fruit
- Rob Lucci comes back for a rematch after the events of the Enies Lobby arc.

- Dr. Vegapunk finally appears in person after being built up for years.
