Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I'm sorry, brehs. These dudes is pulling guns on folks in broad daylight, on busy streets. This is so unrealistic.

Right now, Tony's mom just told the restaurant guy that Tony blew up his restaurant. So this dude is outside in broad daylight with a rifle about to shoot Tony. What kinda unrealistic mess is this? :francis:
It was before camera phones.. If you look up some mob stories, they were doing even more outlandish shyt

I mean Frank Lucas did shoot a man in broad daylight, in front of a crowd of people in New York.

Bokeem Woodbine is in ep 10. :ohhh:

Soprano's nephew is really standing in this fast food place talking freely and loudly about the Soprano business. What the hell.

This is the unrealistic stuff I be talking about. :snoop:
Dawg you gotta stop

I already questioned how you haven't seen this show already in my mind and now you really are suspect.

Didn't Albert Anastasia get hit in broad day??

Didn't John Gotti hit Paul Castellano on the street?

What about Carmine Galante in 1979?

Dawg just stop watching if you gonna be in here sayin stupid shyt

Carmella just took this fakkit pastors soul on s1e13. :mjlol:

He was on his way to kill his mom and she faked a stroke :laff:

And then started smiling when he called her out but everybody was saying she couldn't understand him :laff:

His mom is probably the most entertaining character. At first I thought she was accidentally getting him caught up and she was senile or something, but she was trying to take him out all along :pachaha:

Livia is one of the most self centered, miserable, and evil people on the show. Despite her not being mob tied and a killer, much of her explains why her kids are the way they are. One of the best characters ive seen on TV.

After you finish the series youll realize the number she did on Tony. Dont wanna spoil but theres a livia cameo in season 6A that is pure demon, thats all im gonna say, enjoy the show.

I will say with the flashbacks they showed she was somewhat justifiably bitter by the treatment of her family and just the overall lack of equality of women at the time.

Can you or somebody else explain without spoiling me what happened to the money and guns that Tony and his capos stashed at the nursing home? Or will it come back up in another episode (I'm on s2e1 right now).

The reason I'm asking is because if the FBI had the nursing home bugged, then they knew that Tony and his folks had their stash there. So why didn't they just raid the place and indict them?

Yep her husband is probably the most racist person we've seen on the show, and was violent with her and the kids. Tony never mentions his mother being physically violent with him, only his father. He even put a bullet in her hairdo.

Then there's the cheating. He came out of prison grumpy because he wanted to see his mistress instead. He cheated on her while she had a miscarriage and had Tony cover for him. He also gave Tony's fukking dog to his mistress.

One of the things Melfi tries to get out of Tony, but fails for the entirety of the show - is that there was a worse monster in the home and Tony's life and it wasn't Livia. His dad gave him the order for his first kill. It's why he both hates/resents his mother yet feels guilty about it, because he knows his father was worse on every level and probably made his mother worse in turn (and why his mother resents him and Janice so much, they adored their father and were complicit in his cruelty towards her). It's why his mistresses kind of resemble parts of her. There was some good in her but it eroded. His principal also tells Lyvia that Tony remembered her reading something with him very fondly.

Great point there about what Melfi was getting at regarding his parents. Didn't even get there on my own until you just mentioned it. Makes complete sense in hindsight.
