Janice - Because of his experiences in jail Richie has a sensitivity to the plight of women.

the best episode is easily the pine barrens episode

my fav episode ever was "pine barrens". that is the one where paulie and christopher were chasing this russian into the woods and he gave them the slip and they end up stranded. shyt was funny as fukk.

A lotta folks don't realize that whole scene was a direct homage to Anna's death in The Conformist, it was pretty much recreated shot for shot only Chris and Paulie botched the job :mjlol:

Season 3 marked the greatest shift in the series. The first 2 seasons were very character driven but they were also very plot driven. Season 3 and onwards I would say the show becomes a lot less plot driven and becomes much, much more about the characters and the world they all inhabit.

I remember not liking the later seasons as much when the series first ran because I was younger and I couldn't appreciate the depth or the subtleties. Only as I got older was I able to fully grasp the totality of the show and what they were trying to accomplish. For example I remember being bored to tears by the whole Tony/Carmella melodrama in season 4 and the whole white caps episode... now I wouldn't dare say anything bad about it. In fact it's arguably one of the high points of the entire series. I was just too young and ignorant to understand it at the time.

It really is my favorite show of all time. I can talk about sopranos forever.

I fukkin despised Tony's wife .
Like yo u a fukkin bosses wife u have zero worries, go fukking shop all day or open a busniness and just stfu and suck dikk

just goes to show you, no matter how much money u make and how easy/comfortable you make a woman's life, they will always find something to bytch about.

This thread makes me want to do a re-watch soon finally gave in and watched the whole thing with my brother two years ago and it was great. It really destroys the romanticism Italian gangsters had throughout their film history. The Sopranos were pieces of shyt with severe mental issues and I loved every minute of it. :wow:

The circularity of Tony losing consciousness at the beginning from death anxiety, to the end, where his death anxiety may finally become real.

His refusal to change/failure with Dr. Melfi meant he was condemned to death, even if it's a "living" death, where he never knows if any given place and time is going to be the end.

The more time passes, the more I think the ending was actually perfect.

Best in-depth I read about it: https://masterofsopranos.wordpress.com/the-sopranos-definitive-explanation-of-the-end/

***Editing to say thank you for the rep points, Don Corleone
