Ralph was a major fukkboy. He had to go. What he did to Tracy :mjcry::mjcry:

I just got done watching episode 8 of season 2, FULL LEATHER JACKET. The look Richie has when he sees Tony gave that jacket away to the maid's husband :mjlol::russ:. Richie was a great antagonist.

It's da jackeeeeeet!!

I took it off Rocco DiMeo. Cocksucker had the reputation of being the toughest prick in Essex county... but he never came back after I got troo with him

Tony is a mob boss. That's the genius of the show. It's a show about man in charge of a mafia family but at the same time you see his personal life, his every day problems that we all have. He sees a therapist..

He's the anti hero who does have some decency..

Again when he found out that Ralph killed that horse it was over. He killed that poor young girl that he got pregnant..

Again your analysis is linear and flawed

Know there's a bunch a' Sopranos threads already, but the best ep for me was that one where Chrissy had just got his button, and Paulie kept makin him foot the bill at dinner, and Chrissy was gettin pissed.
Then they end up squashin the beef/bonding over killin a waiter.
:mjlol:

Seriously one of the funniest scenes from the show!!

*Hits waiter in the head with rock*
*waiter begins to have seizure*
Chrissy: "isn't there some kind of medicine these a$$holes take??"

goat show and a classic moment but IRL they would have gotten caught 100%.

it was a restaurant inside a casino so you know there's ridiculous surveillance, waiter went outside to follow the table he just served and was found dead. wouldn't take sherlock holmes to trace it back to them.

Just recently realized after my last watch through how anytime Tony spoke to someone who was wired up, he was either extremely vague with his answers, or would jus ignore the questions and change the subject completely. He either had a 6th sense for that shyt, or legit didn't care or wasn't paying attention to what they were saying

He had a six sense for rats. Remember Jimmy Salteri in season 1? Tony thought p*ssy was the rat. But Jimmy came to his house after he got out of jail and started asking Jimmy incriminating questions while in his basement. Tony caught on quick and figured Jimmy was the rat. Now, Tony was always paranoid about people being wired. So he had a good sense for rats.

Except for homeboy in season 6 who had been a rat for a long time.

P.S. I obviously know that p*ssy ended up being a rat also.

Tony wasn't shyt, through and through. They made it a point to show that even his therapist realized that he was USING their therapy sessions to become a sharper sociopath.

The genius in the show is that Tony manipulated his therapist AND us viewers into liking Tony and thinking there was something good in him. That his deep reflective sessions was a deconstruction of a good guy that is bad by circumstance. But his therapist recognized that Tony wasn't a mob boss with a heart of gold, like she and us viewers wanted him to be. Tony was just so charismatic and intelligent, such a good talker, that he managed to hide his nature even while exploring it. And a sociopath that intelligent can't actually use therapy to better himself as a person, he just humors it to better justify his actions and thoughts as a criminal, cheater, murderer, racist, apathetic father and spouse, etc.

Or as said on the show. "Talk therapy, while not only being useless with sociopaths, actually serves to validate them. They sharpen their skills as as con men on their therapist. Crocodile tears, what have you. They showed data. The one year re-conviction rates were higher for offenders in therapy than for those receiving no treatment at all."

The decency we think we see in him is just a facade. An illusion that we convince ourselves to fall victim to every time we see him dealing with a family crises. We extrapolate his experiences into something we could relate to if we were in his shoes.

Like, "man he has a bad relationship with his mom, I can relate to that!" and all of a sudden he doesn't look so cruel.

And it's that quality that an intelligent gangster like him uses to gain the trust of people that absolutely should never trust him, including his business partners, wife, friends, and children.

That's the genius of his character. He conned us all because we loved him, just like his family, friends, and doctor:mjcry:
