that part in the last episode of season 5 just before johnny sac gets arrested. tony is trying to get him to accept terms and let the beef over blundetto killing phils brother die down. johnny doesnt want to do it but the moment he gives a sign he's willing to hear things out, then he reverses course quick, tony with his master psychology says ''lets not go backwards now'' and opens his arms for a hug.
to this day ive used that move with my woman when i want something she doesnt wanna give. the standard is much lower for me though, i will say ''lets not go backwards now'' off some weak signals
likewise when phils wife was talking about vitos family and phil interrupted and said ''i gotta try and take a shyt
