I've seen every episode of the show countless times. At no time was it ever implicitly stated for certain that Jimmy was a rat. The audience knew about as much as Tony did.

There's a scene with p*ssy and Skip where Skip tells him he's lucky that Jimmy took the bullet for him but that can be interpreted a number of ways.

Like many things on the show, it isn't spelled out for you.

I'll have to watch it again. Btw u mean explicitly, homeboy :pachaha:
Butchie was like :damn::merchant::mjpls:

:pachaha:

Yeah, Butchie egged on Phil something terrible that show.

As Season 6B progresses, Tony becomes more ruthless and further away from his spiritual awakening. He has Bacala commit his first murder out of vindictive spite that Bobby beat him up at the lake house. His paranoia causes him to seriously consider killing Paulie and he later destroys his friendship with Hesh over money and his gambling addiction. Tony also undermines Christopher’s sobriety.

Tony’s deterioration culminates when he kills Christopher in “Kennedy and Heidi” and has no remorse for it afterward. Tony travels to Las Vegas immediately after Christopher’s death; the trip illustrates his descent into moral depravity and deterioration. Tony sleeps with Christopher’s goomar and takes peyote. Tony later vomits in the bathroom toilet which directly links to his earlier bathroom vomiting after he beats up Perry, which began Tony’s post coma moral slide. Later at the casino, Tony wins at roulette and laughs that his luck has changed now that Chris has died. Tony and Christopher’s goomar then wind up out in the Nevada desert, watching the sun come up. Tony stands up and yells “I get it!” He tells Dr. Melfi about this epiphany. However, Tony does not “get” anything. Tony has been given a number of revelations, many in his sessions with Dr. Melfi, but each time he does not significantly act on the epiphanies; the most important of which is his moral awakening after his coma. Tony’s never going to change; he is never going to really “get it.” Tony then says as much to Dr. Melfi when he relays his peyote experience. He tells her that “You think you know. You think you learn something, like when I got shot.” He further tells her that “You come to these thoughts, and almost grab them” but then they are gone (which Tony symbolizes with the wave of his hand under his chin). This represents Tony’s realization that he had to live a better life after he awoke from his coma; however, Tony could not “grab” and hold on to this realization and it is quickly forgotten. Tony in the end is worse than ever before.

:comeon:
Good post. Also, Tony did try to change his life, but those changes coincided with Tony's need to have power and to be looked at as the boss. His wife and his mother all throughout the show emasculated Tony; shyt, even his sister was doing that. Remember Tony does little things while he's in the hospital that he considers to be good, but the moment business gets brought up (when homeboy was going to sell to Johnny and Phil), Tony gets angry about it and then proceeds to vomit. It's obvious his business is going to end up killing up. Also, the whole premise of the show is Tony's need to provide for both families, but there's also this tension he has where he wants to separate himself from his family. He's hates his friends (Paulie), his cousins (Chris and Tony B.), his son, and his wife and mother. shyt, Tony could never leave, even if he wanted to, which is why he never goes back to being "good" after getting shot.

Tony was just a disolyal psycho :comeon:

Look how he did his "nephew", ralph, his cousin, and was going to do vito if phil didnt get their first

It's funny how they all defend Vito after he's killed.
Paulie probably had tony whacked.

I saw this analysis one time on youtube that said that Paulie and Butchie had Tony killed. In the scene where they are in the warehouse negotiating Phil's murder, Paulie and Butchie shake hands behind Tony's back. Dude viewed that as confirmation that both were in on it.

I just caught something. Wasn't that maid also Phil's mistress?

Wrong. I'm pretty sure it's stated that Jimmy was the rat as well. I forget who it was, but they stated in the show that it was both of them.

Uh...no? He didn't kill the Russian. Or if he did, he couldn't find his body. Remember Chris shot the Russian in the head and the Russian kept running :laff:
I have to check on Phils mistress never caught that:ohhh:

As far as the Russian he clearly lived after he disappeared the camera went to a vantage point of someone looking down from the top of a tree, plus they car was missing..........Top continued to wire money to oversees accounts with the other Russian, because he had enough of his partner at that point and he was a liability to him, on some Chris Tony shyt.........

I remember when the show was still runnin a lot of people were askin and askin "Hey when are they gonna address the russian guy".... and then when they never did a lot of people were kinda disappointed.

:comeon:

It wasn't a plotline that was meant to be revisited.

Exactly why he got rid of Feech, them older cats didnt respect Tony, throughout the show people threw shots at his leadership, saying things wouldnt have been like this in the old days, or things would have been different if Johnny was around......

But for all of Tony's weaknesses he had great foresight for the most part, seeing his enemies from a mile away, and being slippery when them snitches was trying to put him away.
