They’re both EXTREMELY RACIST with Sopranos being more out in the open and The Wire trying to convince you that Black people are vindictive children that won’t vote for a white mayor even though Baltimore had a white mayor for the entire run of the show and a lot of the dialogue is just straight slave talk. Like that time when bubbles talks to the old breh in Hamsterdam.

I would say the writing is about equal. Sopranos was funnier and had great realistic dialog. But the Wire is more topical and is actually saying something important about society.
'Filmography' what the fukk is that? I thought it was a list of films in a given category. lol
And story the Wire was way better, it actually was diverse and interesting season to season. The Sopranos especially on the mob side was kinda weak, like 3 seasons in a row came down to "Tony has to kill somebody he doesn't want to". They did tackle family drama well though.
I will say Sopranos had better acting. No one on the Wire can touch Gandolfini, Falco even Imperioli.

From an overall standpoint, I think Sopranos was written better and had much more symbolism and better thematic arcs but I just couldn't get past the way black characters were written/portrayed. It was almost comically bad, and it's why I've only watched the series once.
I've rewatched The Wire countless times and for me, it's more enjoyable. That's why it wins.

We have an entire thread on The Wire and things people never noticed until much later even after several rewatches. Go on any comment section on youtube and reddit and shyt is still be discovered like bones and ancient artifacts lol.
The Wire is way more multi-layered and complex and shows how everything from Government to the streets is all interconnected. Best written show I've ever watched and it's not even close.

both shows are goat tier and it comes down to preference. Sopranos is more entertaining and has better replay value but The Wire has a better cohesive story telling and paints a more vivid picture
