I’m watching the episode with the Vipers. I totally underrated the scene where Chris has to tell Tony about Adriana working with the feds.

It has to be a top 5 Sopranos scene. The actor playing Chris should have won an Emmy.
That whole episode was amazing. The turning point of that season, and the breaking point for Christofah.

Shout out to @Raw Lyrics he posted a theory that Phil was gay and that's why he went so hard on Vito. They really illustrate it symbolically when Phil kills Vito.
This week on Talking Sopranos they went even further that maybe Phil and Vito had a 'relationship'. They specifically pointed to the scene where Phil is laying in bed worried after he killed Vito.
What do you think? Are you feeling that?

Ohhhh! He’s a married man, with a goomah.

But the again, he did 20 fukking years. So maybe he compromised.

He won an Emmy that year for Best Supporting actor.

nah b, thats a reach

my homies dad told something similar one time...saying "he comes out of the closet while fat dom and the other guy are beating Vito and they quickly tape his mouth, so that in the heat of the moment he wouldn't let phil's secret out, how else did he know where vito was hiding, that was there spot."

I laughed it off...I can't agree, makes no sense, idk wouldn't Vito at some point lean on that relationship to get some relief, better yet wouldn't he threaten Phil that he would out him before they got to him...he had no problem being threatening towards meadows bf after he caught him giving top at the construction yard

that whole theory is johnny cake ass fan fiction, Phil wasn't gonna allow anymore disrespect, he wasn't gonna hear any "blood pressure medication" excuses, he had to die...even though he loved him, Tony was gonna let him live further disrespecting his family,
"Maybe you should start sucking :damn:instead of watching tvland because vito brings in 3x what you do in construction"

why would he tell his guy to turn that bodybuilding program off while planning the funeral, a gay cat would've let that ride like :steviej:

To be fair, he won an Emmy for season 5 and this was actually shot for the episode that he won the emmy for. It was cut in the last second to keep the surprise of Sylvio/Tony arranging the hit.

It doesn’t make sense to me that NY made peace with Tony. They were all but gutted so there really was no reason for Butch to sit down with them. What were they afraid of at that point? Tony was in hiding. They gave Tony the ok to kill Phil, the argument that they would’ve hit him simply because they killed Phil in front of his wife is far fetched.

Poor writing. The way NY/NJ reconciled made 0 sense.

Thanks my dude! I have to give credit to the blogs Soprano Autopsy (incredible blog), MastersofSopranos, and AV Club.

Also, if you want to read some really interesting analysis check out:
Tony’s Vicarious Patricide - The Chase Lounge

That’s probably the best breakdown I have ever read on the Sopranos.

Whether he was killed by NY at the diner or hit with a major RICO, Tony was done for as Boss...

It's a disgrace on what Tony did to his family, he had earners, muscle, soldiers, and politicians in his pocket and lost them all..

He went from having dufflebags of 250k on deck in season 1 like it was nothing to scrambling for 100k to give to Marie Spatafore.

The crew in season 6 were all hurting financially due to the BS between Phil and Tony stemming from season 5.

Tony was in no shape for any kind of conflict, physically, legally, street, or even personally since Melfi dropped him from her care...

Carlo has enough dirt to completely destroy what was left of the family since they don't have the dough to fight serious RICO charges....

Tony gets life...
Paulie gets life...
Silvio runs out of money for his hospital stay, Gab pull the plug
Patsi gets life...
Benny gets 20 years for a plea deal...

That leaves Albert maybe left to run the crew...his brother Larry Boy may eat the rest of the charges to spare Albert..

They needed to add some younger guys into the mix. It was a bunch of senior citizens still living that life. It was time for most of them to hang it up anyway.
