Obama is now begging the Chinese for help in reigning in North Korea's ability to launch cyberattacks.

:snoop:

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has sought China’s help in recent days in blocking North Korea’s ability to launch cyberattacks, the first steps toward the “proportional response” President Obama vowed to make the North pay for the assault on Sony Pictures — and as part of a campaign to issue a broader warning against future hacking, according to senior administration officials.

“What we are looking for is a blocking action, something that would cripple their efforts to carry out attacks,” one official said.

So far, the Chinese have not responded. Their cooperation would be critical, since virtually all of North Korea’s telecommunications run through Chinese-operated networks.

Why can't :obama: make police pay for the murders of unarmed constituents & children in this country? I guess they didn't donate as much money to the democratic/republican parties as sony has

In June 2012, members of the group claimed responsibility for an attack against Sony Pictures that took data that included "names, passwords, e-mail addresses, home addresses and dates of birth for thousands of people."[122] In early June, LulzSec hacked into and stole user information from the pornography website www.pron.com. They obtained and published around 26,000 e-mail addresses and passwords.[123] On July 14, 2012, LulzSec took down four websites by request of fans as part of their "Titanic Take-down Tuesday". These websites were Minecraft, League of Legends, The Escapist, and IT security company FinFisher.[124] They also attacked the login servers of the massively multiplayer online game EVE Online, which also disabled the game's front-facing website, and the League of Legends login servers. Most of the takedowns were performed with distributed denial-of-service attacks.[125]

:manny: Anonymous had nothing to do with the Sony hack lets be honest. for a group of digital anarchists, they are proud of their victories and thus proclaim it when they do it... My thoughts are it was an inside job by some really really intellegent. someone that knows computers and bounce satallite signals and ip addresses...

COLI EXCLUSIVE: SCOTT RUDIN DELIBERATELY TARGETED IN SONY HACK?

http://www.thecoli.com/posts/11433340/

By @TheGodling

So tonight me and my dad happened upon the beginning of Team America on tv and watched it for the umpteenth time, because it's still hilarious. I'm not sure if it was coincidence that the movie was programmed during these particular times or someone extemely trollish was at work, but anyway, we talked a bit about the hack and how ridiculous it is that they pulled the movie, and how there was no outrage from North Korea over this movie but it also got pulled when some theaters announced they wanted to show this instead of The Interview. Then the movie ended and something I haven't seen mentioned anywhere popped up right on screen:

Scott Rudin was a producer on Team America

It was the biggest surprise I've seen in a while happening in a movie I've seen countless times. A genuine :ohhh: moment. You see, Rudin was not just a producer, he's credited right alongside Matt Stone (as common for the duo, Trey Parker gets the director credit, Matt Stone the producer credit) which basically makes him very responsible for the movie even getting made in the first place.

Now Rudin had nothing to do with The Interview, but it certainly sheds a new light on the whole hacking case that he was one of the first people who got exposed through the hack (and arguably the worst alongside Amy Pascal, who just so happens to be his conversational partner in most of this), especially because he's not a direct employee of Sony Pictures. Maybe it was the constant connection to Sony's Amy Pascal that kept everyone from finding a more obvious link to him being at the forefront of the hacking 'victims', but the first leaks might not have happened to just embarass Sony, they might have been chosen deliberately as payback to the man who had a hand in making the movie that mocked the supreme leader's father.

And so, we finally reached the point where I actually am starting to believe that it really is North Korea responsible for this fukkery after all.

Maybe this is an indictment of the society we live in now, but all I know is that Obama has had the most interesting and entertaining run of a President up to this point. From day one, it's been one thing to another. From fukkery to fukkery. It's gone from Cuba to this. I can't wait to read about all of this in retrospect 20 years from now and recount all the shyt he put up with. :whew:
his book will be an instant cop :obama:
