Russians have not used air support for their columns as they did in Syria.They're going in much lighter but are also making good strides.

They have started using their SU-34 since early this morning (saw videos of a couple in the sky earlier today). I think about 7 of them were deployed. Still not using either Su-35 or MiG-31.
Don’t know why they keep giving Ukraine room. If they’d deployed Su-34, Su-35 and MiG-31s from day 1 - they would’ve easily enforced no fly zone all over Ukr and bombed them into submission. Interestingly, they’re using more modern weapons in Syria and used more force in Georgia in 2008.

In a way that is a huge force but to invade a country as big as Ukraine it is relatively tiny. They pushed forward but also had their ass in the wind. Ukraine has a standing army now, a national guard, several paramilitary organizations, and layers of militias that gained experience from 2914 and the fighting that followed. They’ve been letting the armor and mechanized battle groups roll forward to get into it with the standing army and guard while the rest pick the softer support convoys to pieces. I think their population is like 44 million.

Su-35’s have been in use like everything else. Russia has some great aircraft engineers.
