where are all the know it alls that said Putin was just spouting empty air? :russ:

bozos.
I really never understood this position. Initially Putin says he feels threatened by the expansion of NATO. Ukraine president hits the :picard: I don't think we are interested in joining anymore since it might start a war. Putin continues to gather troops aggressively at the border. That's not someone posturing lol.

"Largest war in Europe" is the key phrase here.
Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East all have ongoing military conflicts due to Western interference and proxy wars. Why not another one?

And both France and the U.K. backing this is laughable.

It's less a bluff for Russia than it is a strategic maneuver to either ensure they have strong support on their orders or to force the hand of NATO (i.e. the U.S. and U.K.).

Ukraine has a long history with Russia. It was a part of the USSR. After the collapse of the USSR, the United States began pushing for strong relationships with former Soviet-bloc countries, and "joining NATO" was the easiest way to do it. That then allowed them to bring them into the financialization fold, and also allowed them to gain a strategic military advantage. What is very rarely talked about is that after the "fall" of the USSR, the new economy introduced by the West led to massive issues with these countries' economies, and the quality of life dropped massively - Ukraine was one of these countries. A huge chunk of it is ethnically and linguistically Russian, and that chunk wants to retain ties with Russia. The other portion of the country isn't and wants to join the fold of the Western European nations.
The U.S. is pushing for the country to join the West, has armed and trained some of the right-wing and neo-Nazi portions of Ukraine, and as such - has directly implemented the split.

Russia wants control on their side.

Because that worked out well the last time

Well, yes. International defensive strategy and controlling your "bloc" has been the entire basis of international relations for over a century now. When Russia had control (or when the USSR did), then relations improved within the bloc.

When they didn't, then it didn't.

Works exactly the same way with the U.S. (i.e. Cuba).

Are we talking about East and West Berlin? Cause I wouldn’t call what was going on USSR side working.

Next up is a full on world wide ufo event
I dont know. Government basically confirmed ufo’s last summer. Figured it be the biggest headline ever personally. No one seemed to care :ld:

Also Ukraine and Russia been beefing all my 34 years of life. As has Palestine and Isreal. Is there an actual ending resolution here ? Or is this a forever thing that we are pretending can be fixed ?

Exactly and republicans voters only want war with black or brown nations now. They openly support Russia because they see it as bastion of white supremacy.

Underrated post.

Trump and the like admire Putin because he literally does whatever he wants internally and externally and they wouldn't be opposed to doing that here as rights get eroded away internally.
