There was a momentary minor drop during 2020 Covid because oil prices crated so much drilling wasn't worth it, but growth upward has been consistent again ever since Biden came into power.

Being completely enslaved to oil is the issue, USA is by far the #1 oil producer in the world with nearly double anyone else (Saudi Arabia and Russia round out the top 3), but we're so addicted to that shyt that we still need more.

Which is double insanity, because the current power grid (with subsidies) could cover most of the US with charging stations. Not to mention giving more subsidies to auto makers that make more electric vehicles.

But even beyond that, I have no idea that we haven't mandated that EVERY new house built in the US comes with some form of solar power. Even if it's just for something like heating/cooling.

I have 5 years in AF Comm, 4 years in Europe. Spent dozens of weekends fighting jealous Europeans for taking they girls and shyt of that nature. 8 years in the Army split as a line medic attached to scouts/infantry/engineers and some time as a cav scout. I had the opposite experience with the Ukrainians and a couple of Russians in some of those units. The one Moldovan dude was weird though. I can still call each of them if I wanted. The suburba-cac’s and good ol’ boys were the shady ones.
