are the Chechens crazy on another level or......:lupe:

I wouldn’t call them crazy. They are very experienced, good at what they do, and good at passing that knowledge and wisdom down to younger fighters.

They mostly live relatively normal lives but there are still some jihadist that work as mercenaries and advisors in other conflict zones.

What I don’t understand is how Russia economy survives this. Their economy is absolutely collapsing right now and then they have to add in the Ukrainian economy which will meet the same sanctions.

Since the 2014 sanctions for invading Crimea, Russia has built up gold and currency reserves worth over $600B. The government's annual budget is $300B. And if oil prices stay this high, the country will bring in $200B this year from oil and gas revenues. Putin is gassed up (no pun) off of high oil prices.

No, he wasn't.
  1. According to agreement of 1997, Russian Black Sea Fleet was allowed to stay on naval base in Crimea till 2017. Yanukovych has prolonged this term till 2042 on Apr, 21st 2010, two monthes after becoming president.

  2. Party of Regions which had majotiry in Parliament and controlled by Yanukovych voted for law "On language policy in Ukraine" (so called Kivalov-Kolesnichenko law) which granted sufficient preferences to russian language in Ukraine.

  3. Yanukovych tried to force Metropolitan Volodymyr to renounce. Metropolitan Volodymyr was head of Ukrainian Orthodox Church known for his pro-ukrainian views, and Yanukovych needed someone pro-russian on this position.

  4. Yanukovych appointed russian businessman Dmitri Salamatin for Minister of Defence. Dmitri Salamatin became citizen of Ukraine only in 2005, he had russian citizenship before that (and considering what we know now, he didn't refuse from russian citizenship). Salamatin helped to infiltrate russian agents to ukrainian army, and in the early 2014 a lot of officers just rejected to obey orders when Russia invaded Ukraine.

  5. For the same reason Yanukovych appointed russian military officer Alexander Yakimenko for head of Security Service of Ukraine

As far back as five years ago, China and Russia were buying massive amounts of gold to take advantage of the weakened state of the US Dollar. With the Chinese CBDC launched this year, It may be possible to bypass the Dollar altogether.

Doing so will have catastrophic consequences for the global financial ecosystem.

Ianukovitch wanted Ukraine to join the EU when he was prime minister.

He negotiated for 3 years with the EU for the association agreement when he was president.

That's a russian puppet? You need to be more nuanced.

He was an opportunistic corrupt mobster who tried to play Russia and the West against each other for its own interest and it backfired.

Lol no one is abandoning the US dollar en masse for China's currency. China still isn't transparent enough for global finance to keep significant amount of money in their currency.
