I don't see why it's a bad word. Transgender people exist and have existed forever. It is what it is. We need a way to describe people who aren't transgender that is short and easy to say.

People have been schizophrenic and saddled with all other kinds of mental illnesses have also existed forever, should we normalize all other mental illnesses too? Should we come up with a term to describe people who aren’t schizophrenic?

I expect better from Michael Harriott. Damon Young, yeah, that dude isn't interested in actual honest critique of black men and how we can do better. Harriott, though, I'm just like.

There is a place where black people can have honest discussions about what we need to do better for each other, but I don't know where that place is. It isn't The Root, but the problem is that The Root positions itself as that place when it isn't.

Why do you expect better from Michael Harriott? Most of his articles I've read in the past, were sassy, passive-aggressive trash.

Because unlike Damon Young, who spends his time angry at straight black men and who probably writes more hyperbolic critiques of black men than he's ever written genuine critiques of white people, Harriot usually spends his time pointing out the way in which white women practice white supremacy from a place of safety that isn't questioned, I guess. I don't read The Root every day, but that's typically what I see when I read there. I read a few different black publications (I like to see the variety of thought even if I don't agree with all of it).

Uhhhhhhhh...Blacks feminists has no problem shytting on & whining about white women. Have you ever read Jamilah Lemeaux's twitter timeline? You legit can't tell who she hates more, straight black men or white women. So why should Michael Harriot get credit for pandering to his readerbase?
