I haven't done deadlifts in months, and the last time I did was stiffed legged deadlifts. I used to do them more, but now I just focus on other back exercises to make up for it. I do try to squat every week.

He never said he's taken out all leg routines. I can see why he's doing the low-weight, high rep (high volume) direction for leg exercises. It's because he wants strength compared to mass for leg strength. Plus, he's probably taking steroids so medium-level effort can give him big gains. If he went all out on squats and deadlifts while on steroids, his quads and hams would be too big for the Hollywood look he's going for.

squatting IMO is the most overrated exercise ever.

See absurd comments like this make me wanna

Here's the thing... Something like 80% of the population doesn't even workout. Out of the 20% that do 80% don't squat... And out of the 20% that do squat, maybe 10% of those actually SQUAT! Not smith machine squats, not 1/4, not 1/2, or 2/3 squats, but actual squats... So call me surprised when I see someone doing 2-3 PPS full ROM squats so effortlessly... & also I bet your Squat reps are 10 times worse than your Coli rep, WTF is up with that though?

• Although absolute loads may be lighter with unilateral training, the relative intensity is greater than that of double leg training, producing more sports-specific gains.
• Unilateral training prevents muscular imbalances between the limbs, which can be a performance-limiting factor in athletes, particularly in sports that require a dominant side such as tennis, golf, speed skating, and track and field.
Research shows the benefit of unilateral training: A study of male college football and track athletes found that single-leg squat training produced higher glute muscle activity and similar activity of other lower body muscles compared to bilateral squats.

Interestingly, single-leg training produced a much higher testosterone response, which may indicate greater neuromuscular demand that would elicit higher strength and muscle adaptations over the long run.

I don't see why you can't do both....

My main grip is against fukk boys who try to bytch out leg day by attempting to substitute leg press and extensions for squats and lunges...

The Rock is..
41 years old
Has had multiple surgeries
Is a movie star who cannot afford to collect more serious injuries
Genetically superior
Has/is on steroids
Is an advanced lifter

He knows his own body and what's good for him.

Did The Rock squat and DL to build his physique initially?

The number one mistake people do is look at what advanced lifters currently do and use that to base what they should be doing. Ignoring that the advanced lifter's routine has drastically changed through time and their current routine is not what provided the foundation of the physique.
best response so far

but on another note, no wonder Cena went over clean at Mania :ld:
