trying to get my brain to focus on punching and kicking together instead of one or the other.... I guess it's a muscle memory thing since I'm not used to working knees and kicks.....just doing light drilling, working on form and sparring every couple of weeks waiting for my thai shin pads from amazon my whole shyt bruised :beli:

Your legs will get used to it. I came from a kung fu background and jumped into dutch style muay Thai, bjj and wrestling. I enjoy learning all three but I do more dutch style.

Try more one two three round kick with your rear leg combos. Dutch style is more boxing so it may suit you better. If you in NYC I can recommend a gym to check out.

For instance I was going to a gym in Nashville and for thee longest I kept hearing about their prize fighter Tony Johnson

Finally they allowed me to spar, dude is trash he tries to bully his opponents
He got frustrated when he couldn't get me to the ground, we're the same weight(270) and I'm 6 inches taller. My jab and leg kicks killed him he can't move laterally and I front kicked him in the mouth twice but that's the bs you deal with here in middle tn it's all about who you know

The fight game is always about your gym. Coaches are the guys who get you in the door ect. shyt is mad politics. It's like that everywhere I'm in NYC and my gym happens to be one of the only black owned gyms out here. The original fighters here also used to wreck shop so a lot of people don't like dealing with us on some. "Y'all are too rough." Type shyt.

Whether sparring or In the streets, do y'all take the time to dissect your opponent(given the opportunity) before you engage?
