In 2016 and 2020, Trump did not have any major backing with the exception of Adelson and Thiel. His campaign money came from the middle and lower class. It's why his campaign was broke at the end. They were up against institutional money.

EDIT: You are beholden to donors. When they tell you to jump. You ask how high. Another reason Trump didn't solicit the banks and energy.

EDIT 2: Marco Rubio said just before the weekend that if Trump wants it, no one will be able to challenge him. Maybe they run on a ticket together.
You people live in another reality. You mention Adelson and Thiel like they're not two of the largest GOP mega-donors. The Mercers were also huge Trump donors. Donations came from big institutions as well. You don't raise $1B with donations from middle/lower-class people. Like, what is this?

They both have good points and I saw Friday's show. When donors rally around a candidate, that should raise alarms. I'm pretty sure @Rell Lauren is talking specifically about just 2020 (April/May onwards). The only big donor Trump had down the stretch, that I remember, was Adelson. Peter Thiel stayed out:

Krystal and Saagar discuss reports that billionaire Peter Thiel plans to sit out this year’s presidential campaign because he thinks re-election is a long shot.

@Rell Lauren Desantis really trying to make himself runaway frontrunner for the 2024 GOP POTUS Nomination:

:banderas: Dude answered the question in the 1st video perfectly.

Anyways saw this clip from The Hill's Rising show this morning:

:pachaha:That clip was an example of The Left fearing DeSantis. The guest that was the Democrat strategist looked & sound shook about 2024.
