This was a long time coming. This what happens when you brainwash white conservatives for 60 years that Democrats are secret communist and out to destroy the country. It started with the John Birch Society, then Nixon first implemented the southern strategy and used law and order to scare lily white suburbanites to vote Republican, then Regan formed the “moral majority” bullshyt, HW Bush continued that shyt, then Newt Gingrich’s contract with America made things even worse making congress a weapon to obstruct and sabotage Democratic presidents, then W Bush came along with “compassionate conservatives” along with neoconservatism, then under Obama the Tea Party rose up as a political force which saw the conspiracy far right forming a union with the racist base. Then Trump got elected and here we are. The trend is they will double down on voter suppression, racism and fascism. We have reached a point where a large minority in this country would embrace a right wing fascist authoritarian. Jan 6 proved that. Passing HR1 is important to crush Republican minority rule because we can’t trust the Republican Party no more in power.

Biden started off his presidency with a lot of energy so him handling the pandemic and letting people out for the summer/ getting checks out will have him a step ahead. If dems are able to pass the VRA I think they’ll keep the house and senate.
