Trump inspired maybe.

There’s no one with money who will back the formation of a new party with crazy people who don’t vote.

In the near term you will see a vocal backlash to the Republicans by Trump Republicans to take over the party in the House.
They just voted for him in record numbers in November...

The Trumptard cultist is the majority in the GOP base right now...

They just showed you in GA, the GOP cannot win without them....

Parler, OAN and all other types of alternative social media/media channels are spinning up right now to cater to these idiots...That takes money...

Also I feel a lot of yall not counting the possibility Trump forms/joins a third party and runs again...

This is a real possibility...

If Trump runs in 2024, he'll run as a GOP canidate. Anybody on social media talking about running as a 3rd party or independent canidate is living in fantasyland & doesn't understand how politics works in this country. The entire system in the country is setup for the two-party GOP-Dem monolopy.

And 70+ million people don't believe in that system anymore...

Trump can break it (you can argue he already has) and I am rooting hard for him to do it...

Not because I want to see the GOP lose, the two party plutocracy must be burned to the ground...

That is the only way we will ever see true progress and democracy in this country...

they're not the majority, they are a minority that the mainstream GOP needs to activate to win elections. the whole reason trumpism may live on, they'll need to excite that group to win, even tho that group is smaller than the traditional base.

i'd like to see it as i think it opens the door for progressives to run their own candidate. we've seen the "spoiler" 3rd party candidate before, but what's the last election where you had both parties split by 3rd party candidates. time to blow this shyt up - 4 real candidates, no one wins the EC, the EC finally invalidated

how do you become a working class party when you enable corporate greed and disenfranchise workers? people need to stop conflating racist "working class, real americans" supporting the GOP with the GOP having intent to support working class people

"Populist" guys like him want the GOP to shift to the left on economic issues while doubling down on nationalism and social conservatism

i don't care what they want or what rhetoric he spews, he still cut taxes for the rich, decreased funding for safety nets, tried to dismantle ACA, and has cut corporate taxes...at what point do people come to terms with what he actually does vs. this mythical economic leftist but social conservative?

Yes that is exactly what Trump did but the Ned Ryun types still want the GOP to move away from fiscal conservatism.

She could bridge the gap between the Trumptards and the normie GOP voters
This is important. All the GOP politicians openly shytting on Trump right now have no chance of winning the 2024 nomination. I was reading an article yesterday from Pat Buchanan & he talked about how all the establishment GOP folks who shytted on Barry Goldwater after the 1964 election would end up never being nominated for POTUS or VP. It was people like Nixon & Reagan who were loyal to Goldwater that ended up being POTUS.

EDIT:

This is the article:

Right. On the flip side, being too much of a Trump sycophant is probably not a good thing either. The sweet spot for them would be to not be on record shytting on Trump, while not having a persona that revolves around Trump worship.

Some of the "Populist-Right" pundits (i.e. Saagar Enjeti) are actually happy that corporations, wall street, the chamber of commerce, & etc. are abandoning the GOP because they feel it will force the GOP to cater to the working class & small businesses.

She's right, but the GOP needs to stop with the crappy candidates and the thumbscale nonsense in the primaries. Kelly should have never been in politics, and Perdue would have lost in 2 years. They were guilty of everything the left said they did.

What is fiscal conservatism in 2020/21 though?
