She's right, but the GOP needs to stop with the crappy candidates and the thumbscale nonsense in the primaries. Kelly should have never been in politics, and Perdue would have lost in 2 years. They were guilty of everything the left said they did.

What is fiscal conservatism in 2020/21 though?

Right.

A present example of the GOP's fiscal conservatism would be blocking the $2000 checks, which was quite unpopular.

Refusing to address healthcare other than trying to repeal Obamacare is also unpopular, though probably less so.

Also I feel a lot of yall not counting the possibility Trump forms/joins a third party and runs again...

This is a real possibility...
I really think so too.

I know 3rd party candidates haven’t done that well historically, but I don’t think the old models work anymore. There was never anyone quite like Trump before. Things are different now. I don’t want to fear monger or act like I think he’s win as a 3rd party candidate. But I think he could do much better than I would’ve thought anyone could before he was president.

Right but that is by Trumptards...

Trumptards just proved they alone cannot win you an election, you need to appeal to independents and moderates...

So the GOP needs to make a choice, is it the party of Trump or is it the party of Lincoln...The party of Lincoln runs Nikki Haley and has a chance of winning...The party of Trump loses by 300+ electoral votes and watches the country go more blue...

GOP is run by a bunch of demonic selfish old heathens but they're not stupid...They know they have to pivot away from Trump and that will cost them a portion of their base but the alternative is not any better...Its not like Trumptards are going to vote against you anyways but they can't lose all the useful idiots...Its a game of margins...
Another great post. Trump had this perfect blend of being able to tap into the GOP's base while also bringing new people into the fold, and also flipping some people from various ends of the political spectrum. I've never seen a political figure that was such an obvious con-man while also having at least a little bit of support from so many different areas on the political roadmap. It was truly bizarre.

Also, Trump's base was weirder and more varied than mainstream media has made it out to be. Yes, all the white male racists vote for Trump. But since he's basically a cult leader, he does have more that just white racists in his stable. People shouldn't forget that he gained traction with every demographic except for white males in the 2020 election.

I say all that to say...I have a hard time seeing how the GOP will produce any candidate that can hold the base whole bringing new people into the fold, and even flipping some voters from other parties and demographics.

The unfortunate flip side to this problem is that the left is also very fragmented, but that's not this thread topic. The GNC and the Democrats have bases that aren't fully on board with them nor are united amongst each other.

Norfeast groovin…
I hope the aftermath is a smoldering wreck and scorched earth. They’ll need to completely change the very ethos of the GOP because it’s ran its course. Their constituents have become too extreme to handle so they’ll lose their seats for bending the knee but their track records of supporting MAGAism should smear and besmirch their names in politics forever.

The Chairwoman of the Ariozna GOP is very Pro-Trump, so I expect this to pass.

Compare that to DeSantis who doesn't care about the corporate MSM:

Angry CNN activist takes on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on vaccine rollout. Fox Tampa Bar Reporter Craig Patrick and Gov. Ron DeSantis join 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' to discus bias media coverage. #FoxNews #Tucker

We are steadily marching to a cold civil war. I’m convinced these cacs are willing to wage war again cuz of black people, as evidenced by their insistence of BLM being a national threat. All the healthcare, climate change shidd is just a sideshow.

Their xenophobia and bloodlust for oppression/subjugation has reached a fever pitch.

They wish to hunt us, and that’s why they will never budge on the 2nd amendment. They’re outraged that their license to kill is being taken away.

They wish uphold what they believe is the natural order.

Now more than ever, we gotta watch our backs.

Some of the "Populist-Right" pundits (i.e. Saagar Enjeti) are actually happy that corporations, wall street, the chamber of commerce, & etc. are abandoning the GOP because they feel it will force the GOP to cater to the working class & small businesses.
Example:
