Those blindly defending hip hop have failed to stop and ask themselves what the overall benefits of hip hop to us as a people are..what are we getting from this thing.

we argue about the negatives, but what are the positives in hip hop for us a collective people?

I think it was more about the bottom line than it was an agenda. The "Thuggish Ruggish Bone", "Foe The Love of $", "1st of the Month" Bone was the iteration of the group that made Ruthless a lot of money. In any business, an attempt to change the formula that made a product successful is going to be met with resistance.
