Why do nikkas assume Chad was the "real genuis" behind Neptunes?
Lmao I swear, nikkas who dont even know who neptunes is or how many members in it, you show them a picture of pharrel and chad hugo and be like "those the neptunes" nikkas who didnt know who Chad was a week ago, automatically start sayin shyt like "that asian niggga was the real brainds behind the group, fucc dat nikka pharrell :jawalrus"

be blac brehs

slave crab mentality that a few posters have.

most neptune cac fans started that chad shyt way back in the day though n of course c00ns follow .:snoop:

agreed...but listen to the bridges on the various songs it it will become clear that he uses the same chord progression alot and he has a thing for 7th in his bridges, you can interchange bridges and they would not be out of key.Not to shyt on P,i am a fan but he is one of the most blatant jackers in recent momeory. This dude listened to a lot of 70/80's music and if you know music you can trace his inspiriation back to whole chords sections and some straight up jacking of 70'/80'ss funk, rock and pop.Listen to some MJ/Slave/Isley brothers records and get back to me

yeah that funkadelic maggot brain shyt influence him alot.....

Yeah I will search for it when I get a chance it was from a jazz song. Someone on here posted it about a year ago. :mjcry:

Covers & Re-Works
On February 11, 2004, the track was covered by British neo-jazz artist Jamie Cullum for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge. Williams was very impressed by the cover after it was played to him on a visit to the show, and this led to Cullum providing backup vocals for "You Can Do It Too", a track on Pharrell's first solo album In My Mind. The cover appeared as a bonus track on the US release of Cullum's album Twentysomething. Cullum's version was released as a single and reached number 12 in the UK.

Alot of these "producers" now a days just possess the equipment and the right connections not the innate musical talent , I miss when every producer had their own distinct sound , it's rarely like that now a days .

Yep. 9th Wonder for example. He's one of my favorite BEATMAKERS but he cant craft a bridge to save his life. Most of his beats are just str8 loops throughout the entire song. I dont consider him a "producer" so to speak. He's more of a beatmaker. In my opinion The Neptunes are up there with any producers of any genre that you can name as far as pure talent. Pharrell is one of the greatest musical geniuses in modern history.

Been sayin' that about 9th for a while yo Straight Fruityloops beatmaker, no hate I love Little Brother's first album even had mom dukes vibin to that shyt lol

Just Blaze will never be in my top list either cuz he is just a good beatmaker also
