They see me trolling, they hating.....
that Firm shyt, that firm shyt

:ahh:

it was a beautiful movement while it last, that crew was 100x more talented than any crew currently assembled at the moment IMO. Wish they could have dropped a 2nd lp that fixed the problems people complained about with the first.

fuk it

Firm collective talent >>>> Rocafella Roster in its prime (when Cam first joined), Terror Squad in 98, Badboy in 96, Slaughterhouse etc.

I would say they were about equal with 98 Ruffryders.......

and Deathrow was in their own league so I won't even put them in this convo, probably the greatest label run ever. Wu Tang is the greatest group ever so I won't compare them neither.

The Firm was a "good" album. I dont understand why people say it wasnt or it was garbage.

When I got it, I was disappointed though. It couldve been so much better. I purchased what I thought was a group album and got a compilation album. Thats what disappointed me. It was too inconsistent. Nas, AZ, Nature, and Foxy shouldve been on nearly all songs together. Guest appearances are ok, but the appearance of only one or two Firm members on a track didnt make it feel like an true album....only a compilation of songs.

Its like some of you guys said, they shouldve just made an album not worrying about sales and they probably couldve done a classic.

reason the album sucked was because dre was behind it and nas was only on like 3-4 tracks..he should have been on every track and it would have been crazy..i like all the tracks he is on except firm biz..executive decisions is crackkkkkk

Yall really thought The Firm album was that bad? It was disappointing to me but I thought real problem wit it was that it had to many skits

when half the group is horrible like Nature and Foxy its kind of hard to make it work

between Nas and Dre, who the fukk signed off on fukk Somebody Else? what a terrible song, Hardcore, Firm Biz, mad skits. AZ and his bum ass friend Half a Mil got their own song, Nature gets a solo track. album was a letdown, they did not come off as a group at all more like a compilation

The Firm album wasn't that bad. The problem though was the Production on some songs. But Look at the hot songs, they were fire. Also I don't understand why NaS didn't include his verse on the LP version of "Desperado's". His verse was sick, yes Canibus still bodied the track but the fact is the LP version needed NaS verse. But these were my songs:

Firm Fiasco
Phone Tap
Executive Decision
5 Minutes to Flush
Desperado's
I'm Leaving
Firm Biz

Were all Fire.

Should've been a Nas and Az collaboration with a New york...... I mean Texas producer :wow:
fukk the rest.

Nature was good on that album.

The real problem is that Dre and Nas just don't have chemistry. Outside of Phone Tap and Topless, nearly every beat he's given Gnarz has been trash.

could u imagine miliato over some top chef production at that time :ooh:, if a nikka took all the best songs off of million and took the best songs off of da hustle dont stop, well then we'd have a classic on our hands, they snuffed my nikka out b4 his time :to: u know if he got any unreleased music/tapes?

but Milion was my s**t. Quiet Money was soooo ill because they had played the beginning of it on PoaM and I wanted to hear his verse...when they clipped it, it was like waiting for next week's episode of The Wire.

Fires In Hell was one of my favs, had came on the Black Mask OST. I used to bump that like crazy, very few were spitting as hard as he was and dropping jewels at the same time.

The previously released "Some nikkaz" was some ole ill street hip hop.

Then you had Tough Guys, What U Ridin, Thug Onez.

Was f**ked up when duke passed.

Exactly. I must say Nature shined though. Don't get the hate for "Five Minutes To Flush"

I love Five Minutes, one of my album favs. Once again, it wasnt the song itself, it just didnt fit with all the other crap they had on there.

you could damn near make a Firm 2 album with the unreleased joints and various Firm era freestyles

Firm Freestyle (Nas, Foxy) (over the Alcoholiks beat)
Time
State vs. Sosa
Everyday Thing
World Famous (Feat. Mary J. Blige)
AZ, Half-A-Mil, Nature track off AZ's second album
Az, Half-A-Mil freestyle
Desperados Pt. 2
Firm Family (Nas, Femme Fatal, Noreaga, Nature., Mary J. Blige)
The Foulness Pt. 3 (Nas, Nature)
The Founess Pt. 4
Escobar Season Begins
Firm La Familia
Firm La Familia Remix
The Welcoming (Nas, Nature, AZ, with Mary J Blige)

hell, even Mary J. Blige was an affiliate, she was on 3 tracks with them

Need a link to all the unreleased tracks. I have a handful of them, scattered around. 'Everyday Thing' is my favorite of all the album/non album cuts, just wish it was cdq, and two Nas verses instead of old man Dre coming on there fukking it up.

:myman:, its a tragedy miliato went out like that, i would've loved 2 see him get his proper shine. he was an eminence of raw lyricism, street wisdom, fly willy shyt & a lil new age/esoteric science thrown in, kinda like some wu members but half a mil had this tenacity on the mic that was 1 of a kind imo, he had mad different flows with crazy wordplay 2................shine in peace 2 the gawd
