Love em both for different reasons like everybody said in here. 2 had the bigger budget so they could do more but part 1 had my anxiety up from the beginning cause bodies were dropping.

i forgot the 2012 dredd movie had the same premise. Loved that movie too

Raid 2 was good, but looking back I preferred 1. I got them both on blu-ray and they're different from each other.

2 is better. I marathoned both flicks back to back a few months ago and i cant even front. By the middle of the first my mind just kept thinking about all the scenes in the 2nd one i love. These flicks are the equivalent of infinity war and end game to me. One has more action so the action lovers will pick it but the 2nd one is the best overall movie. I even like the final fight more in the 2nd one than the first and i love me some mad dog. The second one is just so much more polished its crazy that it came out only a couple years after the first.

Raid 2 is better in almost every way, I think.

I love the first one for that almost video game plot of having to fight through an entire building. It's really dope. But Raid 2 is damn near a perfect piece of action cinema. Everything is elevated. The plot, the set pieces, the choreography, the practical and visual effects, etc.
