Didnt even read any reviews until afterwards & I agree with the general consensus

it wasnt that bad of a movie, ive seen much much worse. Its just alot of people expected something epic
I went in expecting to see a movie with a 3 million dollar budget, and thats what i saw 
and considering the amount of profit this movie made...i wouldnt be suprised if this turned into franchise of sorts, where this one just sort of introduced the idea, and the studios throw more money at them for budget for the sequels so they can expand on the ideas presented.
damn this was made by the same people that did "sinister"....and that was a good flick

Man it was a crazy ass idea & it turned out to be your typical home invasion movie
& some of the shyt that happened just completely abandoned common sense

the part with the boyfriend was stupid as hell & had no point in the plot

The producer of this (and Paranormal Activity) signed a deal for like $200 million to keep churning out these low cost, high return "horror" flicks.

They said only weapons below a certain grade were legal so that explains the lack of automated weapons, mines etc. Cop out but necessary
Looking back my least favorite part of the movie was Ethan Hawke sent his kid down to the basement to hide by himself and this dumb fukking kid kept a bright ass flashlight on like no one would notice it
