Yes i'm a hypocrite because i listen to rap music.

I didn't realize how influential it was on teens until i started coaching High School School basketball and working with teens from juvenile detention centers. I was 28 years old before i realized how kids actually idolized these rappers and wanted to live the lyrics they rap about. I literally know alot of black teens personally who have been shot.....alot. Many wanted to be part Hip Hop. Meek Mill, Chief Keef and Bobby Shmurda are who many identify with. Typical kids pointing finger guns on their facebook pictures who think it looks cool and want to be down.

Why does my views make you so angry and causes you to lose your appetite and ability to sleep? Your views bother me not one bit. We just have different opinions. Why is 95% of hiphop thats given a mainstream platform "negative"? Is there no positivity in the black community?

Because 95% of hiphop artists came up from "negative" backgrounds.

Drake doesn't rap about shooting nikkas because he never had to shoot a nikka. Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Young Thug, Kevin Gates, Future, Migos, and all them other dudes rap about what they know.

My theory is if Black americans build an economic base that isn't reliant on drugs or criminal offenses then allusions to said criminal offenses would disappear in our music.
