I love a good theory but the one posted is this thread is pure rubbish and has easily been refuted multiple times, even by the writer himself.

The machine works. It doesn't take anything away from the movie. It's still Nolan's best work, even if it does have some sci-fi in there.

We all read the two diaries by Borden and Angier in that movie.....Borden's diary and Angier's diary (that was the final nail in the coffin right there). Both of them were lying to each other. Borden was the one told him about Tesla and Angier was the one told him Tesla's machine is actually worked which is bullshyt. Tesla (A Truly Con-Artist) lied to him to get his money and the hat and cats were all planted there just to make the machine look believable that then Angier realized he got tricked by both of them so he lied to flipped on him (Borden) by pretending the Machine did work which is why Borden confused cause Angier wanna "WIN".

Why do you think Angier got mad and asked him about " What knot did you tie?" cause another twin brother f*cked it up.

When Angier found and hires a look-alike (but dissolute drunk) and he lied to Borden is that the machine actually worked which is why Borden had cause Borden was the one told him about "Tesla" and yet Angier flipped on Borden lying about Tesla's machine is actually worked. Both of them playing game each other and lied to each other. Both of them reading their diary . We're fooled to believe that by who's diary?....that's the point.....WE ARE FOOLED!

Freddy was the one that fukked up the knot, he kind got what was coming to him for that.

The viewer is seeing what Bale is reading in a diary...a diary that he is being lied to in...

the movie is being shown from the perspective of that diary

True. We are taken in and out of the diary's narrative through out the movie, but then this ends about 30 minutes before the movie ends.

If Bordon knew about Tesla and his machine( which he did as in his diary), why would he be intent to give that information to his number one rival Angier, as his diary was specifically intended to be read by Angier. So why would Bordon be still surprised as to how Angier performs the "Real Transported Man" trick? . Borden clearly knew who Nikola Tesla was and what he could and could not do. Tesla tried to explain Angier and fooled Angier, He pulled the wool over Angier's eyes with the cat and the top hat, WHO CANT FIND MULTIPLE BLACK HATS AND CATS. Angier fell right into his trick, gave him money, Tesla left a piece of shyt and Angier realized the key to a good trick is taking the real secret to the grave.

The point of this film is the whole movie was a magic trick. We were tricked into believing the machine actually worked. This movie is not "Science Fiction Movie", ......So why would they suddenly spring science fiction on us. They didn't, we were tricked into believing it was a working cloning machine. This movie is "Mystery, Thriller, Drama".

I really believe you are reaching here. The movie is brilliant as is and you are 'OVERstanding' the film. Your version of events leaves me with more unanswered questions TBH.

Even though I posted the video to speak on the machine, Fredrick wasn't the one that fuccked up the knot. It was Angier's wife that told him to use the wrong knot. Watch the clip again. The whole irony was that the death was her fault to begin with.
