I read that it's set between Predator 2 and Predators, so that big ass, enhanced Predator could be the precursor to the ones we saw in Predators.

wonder if they're going to go with the predator alien hybrid route. They had predaliens and different mixes in those AvP games.

I won't be mad if this ends up being a case of the studio cutting up the trailer in a way that is not really indicative of the type of movie it actually is.
Because I want to be more excited for this movie but nothing I have seen has done anything for me.

The crazy shyt is I’ve seen comments elsewhere that people think this looks dope.

It’s truly amazing how the predator, alien, and terminator franchises have been able to be so wildly popular for 30+ years off the strength of like 2 good movies per franchise. Just shows how great the first ones truly were.

The other day I heard it said that the OG predator is like someone dropped a slasher flick into the middle of an 80’s action flick, and amped up the a sci-fi angle along the way. Dope description.

I hate that thumbnail so much. They did the same stupid shyt with Alien covenant.

The reason these remakes all look like garbage compared to the original is because they don't have an Arnold in the film. The Predator didn't need onscreen time, Arnold was the draw. You actually root for Arnold.

All these remakes, you end up hating the characters and simply root for Predator to off everyone.

Yes! And not just Arnold. You rooted for Mac and Billy, etc. you knew the other characters and the movie was about them. Same with alien. You rooted for Ripley, but in the first one she wasn’t even the clear main character until closer to the end. And in aliens everyone wanted to see her, newt, hicks, Hudson, Vasquez, etc, survive. And Burke was a villain.

The actual monsters weren’t even the main focus of the early predator and alien movies and actually didn’t have all that much screen time.

I would argue that the monsters are far less interesting than they’re made out to be, and what makes them interesting becomes less cool the more you learn about their origins. I don’t want to know how the alien came to be. It’s scarier when it’s just a horrifying lovecraftian space rape monster.

I haven’t peeped any trailer besides the first so I can’t speak on it
