The plot for Final Fantasy X is crazy

Props on this thread, especially during this day in age where dudes love to shyt on this game.

I'm planning on copping the HD remaster when it drops. I play it on PCSX2 right now, but my current specs cause constant framerate drops.

Random note... some dude on Kotaku said Seymour sounds like Terrance Howard, now I can't take dude seriously without thinking "What's going on with this Final Fantasy X mayne?" smh...

Storyline shyts all over overrated ass FF7

the only reason the game is so beloved is Sephiroth and Aerith dying. to me the PS1 Final Fantasy games were released in order from worst to best with the worst being 7 and the best being 9.

Here we go with this shyt. I hate hindsight hipsters. FF7 was fukking revolutionary when it came out and had a great story. This shyt you're talking about was a clusterfukk but because you can somehow shoehorn a deeper meaning into it to make you go you want to say it's better? It just makes you feel smart. Like people who watch Inception feel smart because it allows them to make up some hair brained explanation for shyt they will never understand.

I never played a full FF after 7. Eight was decent. I think I even made it to the end. FF9 looked to retro. I never fought Seymour, not even the first form. I knew he was a villain from the jump though. There was just too much going. Sin, Yu Yevon, Fayth, Seymour, Jecht, Tidus.

the story of Final Fantasy 7 is a mess. its not about it having deep meaning its about it being contrived convoluted nonsense. it comes across like multiple people wrote it out separably and then came together and forced it all into one. its kinda like they way Metal Gear Solid 4 takes the stories of the previous games and tries to force them to fit in one package.

Square got better in the PS era as they released their games and 9 was clearly their best work of that generation. hell 9 is basically the last Final Fantasy game that even comes close to matching the old school RPG feel.

the plot isnt even that complicated

Sin is the beast that attacks every few years,
Jecht is the main characters father,
The Fayth are the summoners
Seymour wants to merge with Sin so he can rule the world

Yu Yevon is the one thats already merged with sin

I'm gonna be honest, what I dislike most about 10 is getting the ultimate weapons and the sphere system. Too much hustling, they should have just gave it to you like chrono trigger did. The sphere system is just too complex. Simplicity is better. The real customization doesn't begin until post-game because you don't have access to all the good sphere drops. So in a way the sphere system is linear.

FF10 had the most depressing storyline I've ever played... it started fukked up and ended fukked up.. 10-2 storyline was much better and its not even close it just sucked that you could only play wit them 3 bytches...

7 was cool... 9 was cool...

People love to shyt on X-2 because it went from the overly dramatic X where you saw the destruction of Zanarkand at the beginning.... to a pop concert in the next game.

But X-2 had one of the best battle systems in the series. And was not as linear as X was.
