She was always going to execute Johnny in front of the henchmen, he didn’t get shot for talking back. Made no sense for her to trust him to actually be her underboss. As soon as she said “none of you guys are made men, except Johnny here” I knew for sure he was done.
Like Johnny told her in the mausoleum, she needed a show of force/strength to get the henchmen to follow her. Johnny said she needed him for that. She agreed…just not in the way he thought he was needed.

He showed he was a snake from his comments about her pops and regularly fukking Luca’s wife. He also flat out threatened to kill Sofia. Under no circumstance could he be trusted to “bow down” and actually be a loyal underboss.
Nah, it was guaranteed. She needed him to tell her where her father hid that money so she could make that speech and give it to the henchmen. That speech doesn’t make any sense if Johnny is her #2. Sophia didn’t make that plan up on the spot, so the fact that she didn’t tell Johnny about it (especially since it’s a plan anyone would have known Johnny would have opposed) pretty much confirms she always planned to kill him to signify the start of her reign and foster loyalty amongst the henchmen.

I don't even think people hate the ending/flood as much as the issue with The Batman trying to do so much at once and adding too much fat. That movie should not be 3 hours
