I think my problem was I almost never reboot. Must have been training the memory because my boot times have gone down from 3 minutes to about 43 seconds. I've been making an effort to reboot the PC at least 2 times a week.

idk your setup but you can probably get that down to 10-15 seconds if you enable EXPO and memory context restore in bios (MCR has to be enabled twice, there's two separate locations for it in the settings)

That did the trick for me when I went AM5 (Asus motherboard). Google that along with whatever brand your MB is.

My pc is constantly restarting, whether it’s me web browsing or transferring files, this has been going on since January or February of this year. It may be because I downloaded the Vice City Nextgen Edition mod, but I haven’t heard of the mod causing restarts for others.

My build is a b550 tomahawk motherboard, amd Ryzen 7 5800x, G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32gb ddr4 ram, and a Corsair hx1000 psu. I’ve been on this build since at least March 2024.

Go into windows event viewer. It may give you insight into what it could be.

Do you have a CPU cooler? Also try plugging your PC into another socket to rule out it being the wall socket. Could check to see if there's any loose connections inside your pc. If you have spare ram and/PSU in good condition try swapping them out for your current ram and psu and see if that resolves the issues. Next time your system restarts open the case and see if anything is running hot might need more fans.

Ok that's good. I'm thinking it's most likely overheating or defective hardware despite your current build being a year old from last year march.

I'm thinking it's either your CPU or PSU or a loose/damaged cable. Swapping any of those parts for good spares would rule that out if the problem persist.

Is there a way to temporarily fix a dying graphics card? I think have to replace my 4080 as I believe it's dying but not trying to purchase another one until I know for a fact I have to. :snoop:

Is it artifacting or overheating or something? Gpu market is fukked rn and getting another 4080/Super means hitting up eBay for a used card at unfair prices.

Every 2-3 days the screen will just go blank and my TV will say 'no signal' until I restart my PC, I looked it up and it seems to mean my GPU is dying. How I do I tell if it's overheating?

I'd use something like afterburner to monitor temps during gaming or benchmark stress testing

You may need to update your BIOS?
