About to trade in this m1 MacBook Air for this new ASUS Zephryus G16 4080 (2024)

It’s look the goat all-in-one gaming laptop this year and I’m about to be traveling a lot this year and next. I’m getting tired of lugging this XSX around whenever I travel. :francis:

Well my DD2 crashed after a 12hour grind session, so i took that as a sign to stop playing and fukked around and transferred the parts

These are my old 120mm case fans. I'm returning the AL series Lians I was gonna put in there and grabbing 6 140 SL Infinitys and 4 120s for the rad and back. fukk it, #YOLO. #NoKidsGang #ItsAllAboutMeeee!

3rd update: Be careful when trying to stunt, brehs. So I bought 4 of the lian li SL Infinity fans, hooked them up, none of them worked. I disconnected and reconnected them again, still no lights. Then I noticed that the rgb on my AIO block/fans, and on the board itself, weren't working either.
Come to find out, MSI boards have a notorious issue when connecting third party argb fans. The LED firmware gets fukked up and needs to be updated, and if it can't be (as in my case) you gotta RMA the board smfh. Spent several hours troubleshooting, resetting the cmos, updating the bios, factory resetting the OS. Nothing. The rgb on my ram and 4090 still work, oddly.
So now I gotta disassemble this bytch again (mind you, the reason I got a prebuild in the first place was to avoid all of this) and be without my main for at least two weeks. Maybe it's for the best cause I need to get back to my programming.

I bought the Lian Li linked fans too for my new build. Now I'm worried:sadcam:

I have an ASUS mobo though. We shall see...

This type of shyt is just a downside of PC gaming. There's always a problem. Once it is fixed though, you will be happy...until it breaks again :russ:

I'm seeing this new girl, so the PC shyt has been put to the side. I need to build this motherfukker though or I might as well wait for the 5090 (which I'm gonna buy regardless). I'm gonna try to build part of it on Sunday. Then I'll spend after work hours building the rest of it during the week. It's just that this water cooled shyt is time-consuming. When you have limited time in the day, it's hard to carve out a good few hours to build your shyt.

I might be dead soon, so I need to build this before that happens :francis:

I need to still play the Cyberpunk DLC, Starfield, H:FW, and Mario Wonder (on the emulator). shyt, I need to play Spider-man 2 on PS5 too. It's hard to juggle work, dating, and gaming all at once. Hopefully I can make it to GTA6 :yeshrug:

Aight so I’ve decided to get a 4070 TI Super.

Found this monitor too:
ASUS TUF Gaming VG289Q1A 28” Monitor, 4K UHD (3840 x 2160), IPS, Adaptive-Sync/ FreeSync, Eye Care, DisplayPort HDMI, DCI-P3 HDR 10, Shadow Boost, Black
Amazon.com

Help me find a CPU/Motherboard to pair with this because I don’t know where to start looking. Way too many options.:why:

Yea bruh. What's weird is that the first fan was working fine. When I hooked up the other 3, that's when everything broke. Might have been my fault tho. I had the cable on the fan backwards, cause they weren't spinning either. That probably bricked the rgb

But the problem is msi no doubt. Tech guy in the phone says he knew all about the error I got

Iono why you even bothered with watercooling. Unless you're gaming 247 for the next 5 years straight, it's a waste

Did some research and decided to go with this cpu and motherboard combo.:francis:

After I’m done buying the gpu, cpu, board, monitor, speakers, etc., this is gonna easily go past $2000.:sadcam:

It much quieter with better performance. I like a quiet PC. I hate the sound of loud spinning fans. It's extravagant for sure, but it's worth it to me :yeshrug:

It's a satisfying project once it's done though. I just need to carve out some more time. It's like a work of art too where you can make really cool looking pcs that you are proud of displaying. I like the hobby

Welcome to PC gaming :mjlol: . If you haven't spent any money then you might as well wait until you got about 4 grand and then try again.
Only saving grace is I can do way more on the PC than just gaming.
Really wish I didn’t drop 3K on a Macbook Pro last year.:beli:
