Somebody asked me about temps in the 5950x and EVGA 3090; played No Man's Sky for an extended period of time recently, 5950x stayed in the mid to low 50s, occasionally hitting the low 60s, well away from the 90 limit. The 3090 stayed around 68-70 but the fans barely spun up. I never actually notice them spinning. CPU Cooler is Arctic Liquid Freezer II, Rev 2. Top mounted in a O11 XL as exhaust, 6 arctic PWM as intake on the side and bottom. CPU and GPU tend to idle at 37ish and 45ish respectively, and it's probably 68ish F in the room.
Let me amend this: 5950 hovered around 68 under load while the room continued to heat. If I turned the heater off in there, I'm sure that would make a drastic difference.

How am I supposed to get a 3060 when it's released? I need a 3070 for real but the workers at Microcenter said people have been outside the store everyday 2 hours before they open and the truck don't get there till noon so people are waiting 5 hours everyday

Alright I got all my tabs open and I'm about to see what it do, the 3060 is wack af but If I can cop it for under $350 I'll take it then upgrade later.

I mean my wife legit just set up the notify me on nvidias website and that is how she got me the 3090
But I guess most people aren't in the market to drop that much on a gpu so they probably keep a few 3090's in stock

Lol a 3060 is a waste of money. Just go find a used 2060 super. Performance is damn near identical. I see why they didn’t bother making a founders edition.
