AMD cards tend to run hot. Might also want to make sure 84c isn't the target temp. My 2080 ti gets to around 82 at full load and I know my airflow is damn good in my case. Turns out that is the "target" temp... card is programmed to try and reach 82 degrees if it can... would have to put a new bios on it to change that target temp setting...
Nah the cpu got to 84c. Fukkin amd and their confusing cpu/gpu naming

you're loosing a lot of your 'boost' clock if you let your Nvidia card get to 80+. it starts dropping around 60c

True, but at least for my 2080 ti it doesn't have any real world application meaning to me. When the card gets that hot I don't drop any frames in games I don't have any issues with apps or video encoding. I legit would not even know the "boost" was going down if I wasn't looking at something like gpuz...

I only run my fans at a max of 48% because I like to keep my pc as silent as possible while gaming. If I apply the typical 60 at 60 70 at 70 80 at 80 my card gets to around 72 but it sounds like a damn jet engine...

GPU "boost" is a bit gimmicky to me...it's like an ISP saying you can get up to 1 GB down but after you factor in overhead and their hilariously oversaturated nodes you probably going to get a max of 900 to 950...

About to cop this as a christmas gift for my twelve year old daughter unless anyone has a better suggestion. Where is the best place to get games from?

CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR Gaming PC
I wouldn't spend $800 on a desktop with a 1660 super and only 8gb of ram.

This looks like a better deal at a similar price

Dell G5 Gaming Desktop: i5-10400F, 16GB DDR4, 512GB SSD, RX 5700 XT 8GB $850 + Free Shipping

This one is $200 more but you get a 3070, it's also 8gb of ram but you can change to more when you go into customization menu.

HP Omen Gaming Desktop: Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 3070, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD $1,062 + Free Shipping

And if you're close to a microcenter check their open box deals, especially for their own prebuilt brand PowerSpec.

Even with DLSS you not hitting a stable 60fps 4k on CyberPunk on a 3090 at Ultra. :Whew: This is the new benchmark that all new GPU's will have to go up against.

Cyberpunk 2077 Performance Preview and Initial Impressions | Tom's Hardware.

I'll play on Ultra with RTX off it should get you to 60FPS in small spaces early on and just wait for the optimized setting from HUB or Digital Foundry to see if you can squeeze better performance out of it.

I'm glad I sold my 3080, I'm about to get rid my LG CX

4k 120hz is a pipe dream, the 4080 will be out in two years and will be the real next gen card, the 3080 is high performance for last gen games and basically a 1080ti for current gen games and the 3090 is just a waste of money lmao

This is nonsensical. By the time the 4080 is out you'll be talking about the next card. The real answer is buying what you need at the time you need it. No such thing as future proofing or any of that other shyt. When your able to run games at 4k 120 than 8k is gonna be out and all that other shyt. Constantly waiting for a piece of technology that doesn't exist is the actual waste of time.
