The 9700KF looks good, from all that I've read. However, I'd probably wait until the 10th gen desktop chips come out though.considering copping a 9700KF to replace my 6850K

I noticed while playing Outer Worlds that I smelled hot plastic.
Had some fans fail (CPU, and a case fan) and I replaced them.
shyt got hot and cut off after an hour of playing. This wasnt the first time, but it usually would just reboot. Not this time
So it might be the power supply..but my bet is on the mobo being dead.
Im still running an old Sandy Bridge proc, any mobo suggestions?

I coped this lenovo legion y530, should arrive this week.
Mine is a custom build with 16gb(2x8)ddr4 2666 c15 kingston hyper-x, 1tb samsung evo 860 ssd and 250gb samsung evo plus nvme.
It's a gaming laptop but i will not gaming on it, just use with my dedicated audio system.
For video editing i recommend you grab one with a six core i7 8750H or higher, and for photo editing an ips screen with at least 100 srgb color gamut.

Yeah, like i said i customized mine with 16gb low latency ram, samsung nvme and 1tb ssd for a few more bucks.
This thing has a lot of ports and a good dedicated video card, i think it was worth it but surely there are better ones price-wise.
