I've been testing out my LG 32" 1440p, 165hz monitor. shyt is nice. I think I might like it better than 4K, now that I have a good screen (fukk TN shyt

I like that I have the option of either 4K, all ultra, 60fps or 1440p, all ultra, 165fps.
You all are right, 165hz is so smooth. It makes 60fps look like a slideshow.

Get a 1080 minimum if you plan to stick with it for a while. You are right towards the end of a cycle though so might as well wait for the nvidia refresh. VR is okay, but its just not for me. I was really close to buying a Vive but I am just not that interested. If anything I might just go with a PlayStation VR down the line due to the first party support with Sony.
