i9s now :damn:

I hate that the X99 chipset didn't last more than 2 years.

I might buy a new X299 chip and new mobo, etc.

shyt is moving too fast. I got 6 cores, and I've never had a problem. Maybe I can wait another year or two :jbhmm:

(I hope :sadcam: )

Anybody have the new Ryzen 1800x? If so how is the performance of the chip?
Not worth it. Go with the 1700 or 1700x if you feel like Ryzen is the way to go for your needs.

Hell, tbh if you want a ryzen build I might be able to hook you up if you want to pick it up in a few weeks.

I have an 1800x-killer sli build with a 16gb stick of ddr4 g skill ram.

Im about to do a full Ryzen build within the next month. From all my research the best price/performance is the 1700. I don't even see that many 1800x builds on YouTube. I'm personally spending the money I save on going with the 1700 to build a water-cooling setup.
I heard the best price/performance for gaming is the 1600. The 1700 is if you both stream and game at the same time

Thanks man. I had some extra money I made from side work and I went ahead and got the 1800x along with a new mobo and ddr4 ram. I'm going to try watercooling with an AIO kit from Corsair.

@daze23 Robo Recall for the Rift is the best VR FPS out right now. If you can, hack your Vive to work with it. I know you don't like exclusive games, but this is worth it. Best FPS by far (and it has teleport jump, which I don't even like).

I think so. The best FPS is coming out for the PSVR, Farpoint, but Robo Recall is a lot of fun. You can even catch bullets and send em back to the target. It's fun as hell. Raw Data is still in production, but this game is finished. I'm a big fan.

Just booted up with my new internals and after exiting uefi, my system went straight into my windows partition before I could change boot options. All my Intel drivers are gone and it shows that my R5 1600 is recognized. :ohhh::patrice:

Did windows 10 learn to play nice with system swaps?

I'll post pics once I get it closed up.

Oh it will recognize the hardware for sure, but I would still "reset this pc" if at all possible.

Is it still showing that Windows is activated?

Damn I'm not sure if it's just Forza Horizon 3 that eats up ram but i just borrowed a 4GB stick of RAM(same as mines) from my bro's desktop to test it out and that shyt fixed my stuttering/fps drops in FH3.

My specs(before the RAM):
Intel i5 4690K @ 4.00GHZ
8GB DDR3 at 1600MHz
MSI Armor 8GB GTX 1070(OC'd to +80MZ Core/+395 Memory clock stable as per Uniengine stress test)
Installed on a SSD

Before adding another 4GB, my RAM usage was really high according to RivaTuner in game. It was hitting like 7600MB usage. GPU and CPU usage were normal as per the settings as well as the temps.

In game the fps would often drop below 60fps to like 45~fps occasionally. This is at 4K on High settings, MSAA turned off and static and dynamic geometry on Medium. FPS smoothing on etc.

Lowering settings didn't make a difference nor did the resolution. The race I'd test it out on is the 3 circuit bridge in Surfer's Paradise. It always dropped there. After the RAM install I only tested for a few minutes but the drops immediately at the start of the race were gone. It was smooth as hell. This GTX 1070 is a monster. Running FH3 at 4k/60fps is just surreal. I'm sure I can probably bump up a couple settings to high along with MSAA 2X(seems to not work in the game..) since my GPU memory usage still had quite a lot to spare.

I noticed the RAM usage was already at like 8300MB. Is the game THAT hungry from RAM? Seems to be the only game that needed 12GB ram.

Gonna upload test footage real quick.
